Sure feels like the Mavs are truly banking on this. The press conference was FULL of allusions to the fact that RC was the problem (I called it "scapegoating").... we will see soon enough if that is right. They clearly aren't acting like the problem was the roster.

I'm going to say this and I've said it when Rick was here.  His inconsistent rotations and herky jerky style of management was always a complaint with players over the whole time.  He worked well as a tactician, but people arent emotionless widgets and increasingly so as players get more power to move from situations that they dont feel they fit well.  It's hard to develop players that you get -- Maxi, DFS, JJB and JB are the exceptions, not the rule.  

Nick Saban used to be totally old school and played upper classmen, but he changed as more players started leaving early and such, so he plays a lot of young players and gets them ready.  He knew they wouldnt come if they didnt have a chance to play before they were juniors.  Point being, he had to res the terrain and roll with the changes in the personnel landscape to stay sucessful.  At times, I felt, even though he tried, Rick struggled here.
