I know of so many cases like this...how can a person be so dense to think this way when EVERYTHING around him is pointing him in a different way. I guess that is the personality though. When someone tells him the right thing to do, even if that person knows it's the right thing to do, they still do the opposite because, no one is gonna tell me what to do. I'm sure we all have seen this personality in their lives. I think anyone with a big family probably has a sibling that is this way.
He's not some evil dude trying to figure out how to con us. He's just bad at this.
