1st.  I want to thank Donnie for Dirk and Luka - Thanks.

2nd.  Hoping that this was all planed and Masai is the new GM.  That would lead to what I said in another thread - that Cuban is the source.

3rd.  Donnie had to go because his ties to the Hardaway's.  W/THJ money Masai can now bring in Lowry.

4th.  Like someone already said the Consulting Co is hired just to clean-up the bad apples.

5th.  If this is not true and we are still looking for a GM in 2 weeks - we have bigger problems...

Hold on to your Mavs caps, its going to be a bumpy summer.
4) Bob is one of the Bobs, the consulting company is the other. Has the bomb squad searched the building yet?

We need a new GM poll or prediction/guesstimation.

Stein says the Mavs will also interview external candidates.

Nice, the Dallas Morning News is now assisting with the “Doncic might now sign” vibe.

As I said earlier, really like Fin, but please no. He may have what it takes, but would likely mean that nothing is actually changing with how the ship is captained.

An internal solution would probably mean more of the same. Another puppet for Cuban. The fantasy GM turned billionaire team owner.
If this is a serious attempt to change something they need to find a fresh guy without any connections to the previous front office group.

I am disappointed in hearing this.

No offense to Fin, but he's apart of the old brass line of thinking. Here's a chance to finally get an outside guy in with a new mindset.
14x All-Star, 12x all-NBA, 1x MVP, 1x Finals MVP, 1 NBA Championship: Dirk Nowitzki, the man, the myth, the legend.

The Finley news might just simply be a professional courtesy, as not naming him a candidate could be seen as a slight. And it could also be a favor to him in a future job search if the new guy cleans house and Fin needs a job.

Or maybe Finley really is the guy. We’ll see.

Agreed. And, I don't have anything against Finley, either. I'm sure he's deserving of an opportunity with some team at some point.

But for THIS team, if they're making a change, they need to make a CHANGE, for exactly the reason you laid out above.

Ugh, in thinking about it, how many here know names that would be good for the spot? There are so many execs around the NBA that none of us has the names of. Not really sure how to put together a contest where there is a clear winner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thinking about it, yeah a poll would be hard to do.  Just so you include Chandler Parsons as a choice.   Smile
