KP would not have celebrated this.

Can I just say people worship at the alter of Kerr and say Rick is a problem but one coach had his team ready to play and the other didn't. I know the Warriors supporting cast stinks but they do have a HOF MVP candidate plus another HOF player in their starting lineup.

Well obviously the order is Walton > Carlisle > Kerr. Big Grin

BTW that "other" HOF player had like 8 rebounds and ZERO points. If KP had that type of game, posts would be about torches, pitchforks and where to meet up.

Wonder if we got super motivated WCS revenge game last night after Kerr/Myers essentially dumped him  after just a few months on the roster for a bucket of balls.

2021 Draymond gets by A LOT on reputation.

Draymond´s impact was never about scoring. Just look at his stat lines in the previous two games.

2pts/12reb/19ast against Denver
8pts/14reb/13ast against Sacramento

He is not as good as he used to be but still a really good defensive anchor (basically a defensive coach on the floor) and playmaker. Also cannot underrate how important he is for the chemistry on offense.
The Warriors rank 7th in D-Rating with a terrible roster. Wiggins is probably the 2nd best defender and he was beyond bad before he joined the Warriors. That´s the kind of impact that boxscore numbers cannot measure.
And that´s the reason why Draymond can score less than 10pts and still be the best player on the floor. KP on the other hand is a net negative on defense. If he isn´t scoring he is a glorified floor spacer. Would be nice to have a player that could lead a top 10 defense despite mediocre perimeter defense and without any rim protection.

"Wednesday’s injury report, they listed Kristaps Porzingis (left ankle sprain) and Josh Richardson (right hamstring tightness) as doubtful to play Thursday night in Detroit.

Luka Doncic (left elbow contusion), Dorian Finney-Smith (lower left leg soreness), Maxi Kleber (lower back contusion) and JJ Redick (right heel soreness) were also included as questionable, but all four played in Tuesday nights win over the Warriors despite entering that game with the same statuses."

Great...

Mempis has the 30th rated SOS left.  I might pull for the Blazers in this one.

KP's defense is the central and most important thing this team has to figure out. We thought the Mavs were buying a stud defender and instead they got a below average problem at the most important defensive position.

I'm happy the Mavs are working Powell and WCS back into better rotation spots, and I'm all for guys like Holmes next year, but I'm not in the camp that believes KP can play the 4. Offensively, SURE, but if he's on the floor he's a 5 on defense. This is a problem, regardless of how well he's playing offensively. I sure hope the Mavs are ready to fix it this off-season.
