THJ growing on me. You need guys that are aggressive on offense and can hit 3s.
I take it back! Jinx. This may be the worst game I’ve ever seen from an NBA player. Probably the injury, but regardless, he shouldn’t have been in the floor.

Mosley happily watched him brick shot after shot. No lift on the jumper, no bounce on the drive. Doesn´t take a genius to see that he wasn´t his usual self. Should have benched him after the first quarter.

No need to apologize or no need to bash him. This is the player he's always been. Streaky and inconsistent. We will see if the MBT really loves him and gives him a big contract based on the few games where he shoots like Klay Thompson.

THJ was just helping us all feel like we could be NBA players tonight.

I don't blame THJ that much for this game. He probably should not have played but was trying to help his team, who really needed a spark. It just didn't happen.

Even after todays game he is still shooting 40% from 3 for the season. Some of his good games just happened to be in games where the rest of the team did not show up.

I absolutely blame Mosley. That horrid lineup with Brunson-Burke-Green-THJ-KP, when the Raptors had several long tall players on the floor.

He was so so so bad as the defensive coordinator last year.

I do not think this was prototypical THJ. He should not have been on the floor vs Toronto. He probably needs another week off to get the groin right. Unfortunately, he tried because we were so short on personnel and likely aggravated the injury worse. Dallas should have scheduled this loss and sat KP and/or Luka: not like the fans in Tampa Bay were buying up tickets as soon as the schedule was released.
Speaking of which, give the NBA credit... How bad would it have been to move the Raptors to Seattle for the Covid Restrictions and then prevented fans from attending? Nobody goes to sporting events in Tampa anyway, unless the Bucs have a HOF QB.

Such is the roller coaster that is THJ
I told ya'll this would happen.
That being said we need to be patient, Tim had a groin issue and the team was a mess overall. We need to get back to full-strength and then see how this thing looks.
I have maintained that Tim is the guy to upgrade but that's easier said than done. If he continues to come off the bench and have success there I am liking his fit better. I expect him to finish the year with another solid statistical year. Even after being terrible last night he is still at 40% from 3.
Mavs rotation I think will be something like:
Luka, Rich, DFS, Maxi, KP as the starters.
Brunson, THJ, Burke, JJ, Powell as main subs with WCS, Green fighting for minutes. I believe WCS would have been in the doghouse already but Rick doesn't have enough guys.
I like this roster still at full strength. You have lots of outside shooting and your starting unit plays good defense.

I'm starting to cool on my thoughts of Mavs trying to trade THJ at the TDL. I think you'd need the perfect storm for it to happen now in that the trade would need to be for his replacement and not other needs on the roster unless the team is willing to take a step back.

I still like what I have been seeing from THJ lately. I don't know that he had a great game against the Rox but his shot selection looks a lot better to me. He has been mixing up 3s and drives to the basket which is smart bc teams have to respect his outside shot. THJ has also been aggressive in transition opportunities.

Small sample size but 6th man THJ looks great. He is still playing starter minutes and closes the game but it really helps to overcome the lack of shot creation when Luka is on the bench. Also feels like he plays with more energy on defense.

Man, THJ as 6th man to go with Maxi, Powell, Brunson and (I'd love to see DFS also) would be an amazing bench. Now to get the upgrades in the starting unit to put those guys on the bench! This is how it's supposed to be!

Literally every team in every sport would have a better line up and better bench if you moved 3 starters to the bench and replaced with better starters. lol
