Quote:Scott41theMavs I have an appreciation for roster building opportunities getting the best young perimeter and wing defender to play alongside the best young guard in the league for the next 6-7 years. Meanwhile I can replace Porzings much easier than I can find Smart/Brown level of offense/defense for $36M per year. There will be so many center options next summer. The best case is LEAGUE over. Nobody is stopping Luka/Smart/Brown/DFS/Giannis. You want to see teams with 52 points after the 3rd quarter again? Here is your chance. The worst case is a 22 year old Tyson Jr. in Jarrett Allen and 20M in capspace either in 2021 or 2022.

Cedi Osman is not reporting to Cleveland's Delete 8 voluntary mini-camp...staying in Europe. Hmmm
Jackson plus 31 is a match for Osman. I see Osman as an upgrade over Jackson as a bench forward. That's all he really has to be to consider this improvement. Reasonable declining contract. Would slot nicely on a bench of Brunson, Curry, Cedi, Maxi and Powell.

Oh if it was just that simple. Drafting players is always a crap shoot. Nobody thought Duncan Robinson was going to turn out to be the deadly marksman he is. Just like former #1 pick Anthony Bennett is out the league.

I was on the Miami train early, picked them months ago to come out of the East. When I saw them play the Mavs during the reg season I was extremely impressed with their team.

KP/Powell/2020 pick swap #31 for 14 for Smart/Brown/Theis/2020 pick swap/Bos 2021 first/Bos 2023 first That puts us whole with our trade to get KP as well as the extra tip (pick swap this year) for getting him through his post-injury year. Luka/Brunson/Burke (split MLE) Smart/Curry/#14, 18 or MLE split Brown/THJ (opted in)/#14, 18 or MLE split DFS/Kleber/#14, 18 or MLE split Theis/WCS (opted in)/Boban In 21 and/or 22 you finish out your big rotation still going after the Giannis dream, but picking up others when that fails. Honestly, I'm not sure that is enough for me to pull the trigger after looking at it, I'd have to be completely sure Brown is worth it. I know Smart is a player I want, this price is pretty big though.

KP could end up being a 30/10/2 player who shoots four pointers, protects the paint, and drives the basket while remaining healthy. If we were certain he would stay (become?) that player, we'd win a championship in the next year or two without adding any other stars.

If Giannis loves Doc so much, he can become our head assistant. Doc can coach the first four games of every play-off series, then Carlisle comes in for the kill.

^^ Figured it was going to happen eventually. The only coach ever to blow 3 3-1 leads. Ballmer is the richest owner in the NBA. He can eat his salary.

Even worse, you'll never convince me they weren't the best team in basketball this year. For them to bow out in the 2nd round is CRIMINAL. Hard to pin it all on Doc, but I do think he's overrated. Still, he will have a head coaching job again right away, if he wants one. Book that.

Just sayin, Doc does have something Carlisle doesn't have, and that's an ability to connect with players. Doc is a player's coach through and through. No way he'd ever take an assistant role but boy he'd be the perfect foil to Carlisle. Carlisle runs the X and O's, Doc rallies the team. What a combo that'd be.
