Pre Season Game 1 vs Houston Rockets | 7:00 AM CST | NBATV
#41
26 3pt attempts (out of 49 total shots) by halftime sure makes it obvious there isn't any offensive plan at this stage.
Coop still gonna Coop.
Risacher is at least trying to contribute with rebounding while looking for his shot.
Bibber needs to hit a shot to get his range.
Sengun looks like the next version of Jokic, at least for this game.
Larry isn't a total disaster
A lot of what is expected to be regular rotation guys are out this game.

Shooters are starting to find a rhythm. Its annoying they cant be like this from the tip.

Ya know, as much as I dislike it, Powell is one of the few adults on the court. I dont know who we're cutting but we may just need that dude to teach others what the hell to do.

Id prefer hes a coach if anything.

Houston will be interesting to watch.  Tough to get rid of the stink they had last year though.    I like them least of the middle 4, but they could win more than some in the regular season.  FVV is huge for them.    We will see if he can return to form after injury.

Mavs look better in a up and down ragged pace.   Struggled in half court sets.

Finally Risacher made a couple of layups.

Not a great run by Cisse so far.   I know his contract is guaranteed, but is he in trouble losing his spot to Powell?

Naji seems lost with the ball sometimes. Not sure who to pass to. Not sure whether to drive for the floater. Just looks a little lost.

Cisse did look a little overmatched by Adams.

Hoping we get Kyrie and PJW at least for next game.

Game with all HOU highlights is hard to watch. Does it switch to DAL next game?

They started with the Mavs announcers but the feed was terrible.   Maybe that is why they switched?

Sort of weird Marshall is getting so much run. He looks a little doughy. Playing him into game shape?

If I remember correctly, I think Cisse is still eligible for a 2-way. Mavs could theoretically waive him and re-sign him to a 2-way. But I doubt he clears waivers.

It's 2026. Mavs are playing their first preseason game. Dwight Powell is easily the best big in the game for the Mavs. At this point it's a meme...

Cisse looks really lost. Disappointed in his play.

Larry has made some good plays.

Letting Sheppard look like an All Star candidate.

Some of this is the difference between a team that's been together for a couple seasons and one that is essentially brand new. But it's tough to watch for fans that have been starved for competitive basketball for a couple years now.

1st pre-season game
Rockets had their full roster available and played quite a bit
Veteran Rockets team that already knows how to play with each other
Dallas has a ton of new pieces to work in - gonna probably be a rough start this season
Lively, Kyrie and PJ not playing
