I don't want to invite ridicule, but...
...I think I'm still on team Mathurin. I might feel differently when I see his contract, and Gary Trent Jr's agent isn't helping.

Marc Stein on the reports that former Heat players like Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler weren’t the biggest fans of Bam Adebayo being chosen as the ‘guy’ for the Miami Heat: “He is Heat royalty for Micky Arison, Nick Arison, Pat Riley. He is the modern day Udonis Haslem. They consider him the absolute franchise pillar. I’ve always heard nothing but he’s held in high regards by his teammates… He is the untouchable there. That part is for sure. He is an extension of Pat Riley, Spo, Ownership.”

I think there are several people here who are Mathurin-neutral.
What's the proper pronoun for that?

Yeah, they’re all old by NBA standards. Beggars can’t be choosers.

Naji is 28 so he has a few contracts ahead of him. Unless Portland is sending back draft capital, hard pass.

Tyler Herro IS NOT taking any legal action against Bam Adebayo as of now, as both players are ready to move on, per @ShamsCharania: “There is a belief that surveillance footage is to be reviewed, but at this point no investigation from the NBA. Tyler Herro is not pursuing any legal action as of right now, of course. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo have clearly had some sort of falling out that potentially began last season. My understanding is both Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo want to move on from this situation.”

What's hilarious about this is that if Kerr was speaking honestly/providing non-fake news, he must have been high as a kite. If there really was an agreement for Lebron to go to GS, what do you think his and Clutch's reaction's going to be to someone else breaking the news? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL If this was true when Kerr said it, I'd be stunned if i! wasn't the case that it isn't anymore!

Don’t know if those are real Vegas lines… if so, I should be a capper.

I think Vegas will have the O/U line around 35 wins, if this is the final roster. With no incentive to lose, I think an increase in ~9 wins is a reasonable expectation, but the league will be much more competitive next season - with no obvious 'tankers'...

I was surprised with some of those lines as well. I have no idea if that is accurate. The guy who re-tweeted is legit though. Who knows.
I do think if tanking is curtailed due to a less than ideal draft and new lottery odds, a 34 win pace may be a 38-40 win pace from last year. There may not be 10 plus teams trying to lose every game. That right there will make the season more competitive and probably push down some win totals.

Saw a report that the SAS #20 pick this year, Quaintance, may miss the entire season due to ongoing knee issues and necessary surgery to address the problem.

LeBron on seeing Isaiah Stewart charge at him: “He’s chasing the sh*t out of me, and I’m like, get this big mother**ker up off me. That’s a big boy.”

Dennis Rodman says LeBron is probably the easiest guy he'd ever guard in his life: “Only thing he has on me is his size, he's 6'10, I’m 6'6, but that don't mean anything. I’ll make him go left all day long. I’ll make him shoot that damn jumpshot which ain't worth a sh*t.” (via @LA_SportsReport)

Too much bravado, but it would have been a fun matchup. Dennis was one of the best defenders ever.

The billionaire Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter’s sprawling investment empire is facing scrutiny from US prosecutors, who have been investigating potential financial improprieties at two of his insurance companies and at Guggenheim Partners LLC, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Walter controls the insurers and has a stake in Guggenheim through his TWG Global holding company. Walter is best known for his ownership stakes in premier sports teams, including Major League Baseball’s Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team and the UK’s Chelsea soccer club.
