Goodness, no! If we banned people for bad opinions the board would basically just be dirkfansince98 typing messages to himself.

Morez was so good.  He has very high iq he is always in the right place running the right play getting the best position.  His touch was amazing, seemed he has some post moves.  3 looks promising.  Defense elite.  You couldn't tell he had 27 points.  Larry had some great creation and passes, awful shot in this game.   Ish looked good was trying to fit in.

Russ averaged a triple double over a whole NBA season. That is absolutely incredible and yet no one to this day considers him as a floor general. Assist numbers by itself don’t tell the story.

Nemby is young and getting his footing as well but for this SL team, he is the veteran. He has not been brought in to score but to calm down others and set the table so that you don’t get the terrible brand of basketball you see sometimes in SL without a floor leader.

Nemby was looking for his own shot. Just like Serg he also missed Ish on a few beautiful cuts Howbwr Serg and Ish overalll looked more unselfish.

Ironically it seemed as the game went along that their unselfishness rubbed off on Nemby and he started passing more as well when he should have been the example they followed.

I am still high on Nemby as a backup PG off the bench and if the main PG goes down for a few games or weeks he can step in as a starter. He has to focus on being a floor leader  Jalen Brunson types of players are rare. Smaller ball hog PGs usually find themselves out of the league fast.

Unless you are an elite iso scorer you have no business dominating the ball like this.

I got the feeling watching Ryan, that he had spent the summer watching Brunson in the play-offs and decided to me his mini me, I get some point to his assists, but when you run the shot clock down to under 8 seconds dribbling the ball and finally have to pass it and that player happens to shot and score who really cares.  Assist aren't what they used to be and just passing to a guy 25 feet from the rim that is open and they score isn't didn't seem to be counted as an assist.  He only passed the ball down court to a player running out once for sure and maybe one more time, but otherwise he just dribbled around. Now the other issue is he just isn't big enough or quick enough to guard anybody, but he can tell you the number of the player who just blew by him as he follows them into the lane. I don't think he can get the ball up court against the Spurs guards in under 8 seconds.  He isn't a horrible player, but he isn't long, a good defender and plays slow, so how does he fit with the way the Mavs are planning to play this year?

OK, I will give him a bit of slack on being the first time he had played with the others, but they also need some slack since I don't think they had a clue that he was going to slow the game down to dribble around and it's not like he hadn't been playing organized ball this summer, wasn't he playing for Canada and should have been in game shape.

I got a kick out of the ESPN, depth cart for the Mavs before the game, Lively the starting center, who can barely walk and Ryan as the back up PG. Ryan may be able to do OK against the lottery teams but shouldn't see the court against the top teams.

Overall good points but I think the last one is a bit too harsh.

Nemby proved against actual NBA teams that he can play and that the game doesn’t move too fast for him. He will always have certain issues due to his size, but as a backup PG and occasional starter he can be good.

Size by itself is not an indicator whether someone can stick in the league. It is usually their ability to handle the game speed without getting overwhelmed that is an indicator whether someone belongs. Especially for a PG who went undrafted, he looked like he belonged on a NBA team.

You are correct that if he tries to mold himself as a Brunson he won’t be doing himself any favors.

Larry looked better than Wagler and Flemings so there is that. Hope it was just nerves because that was the worst game I've ever seen by a top pick in Wagler.

Eh, Wemby was 2-13 from the field and looked lost in his first SL game.

As much fun SL is, one or two games are rarely ever a true condemnation of the player. But if they excel, then it shows they do have talent. It's a win-win situation for everyone honestly.

The thing about Wagler is -- he is a lights-out shooter and add the fact that he is a PG or at least, has good PG skills adds so much value for him.
But his athleticism is a TREMENDOUS limiting factor.

And while Larry isn't the model of athleticism, Larry is a few notches higher than Wagler in that regard.
And seeing Sergio has the willingness and the ability to defend -- that closes the gap between him and Wagler.

Wagler's the better shooter, the better ball handler, but I'm not sure he is the better PG.

It's one game, but I think Sergio even in year 1, wouldn't be too far behind the top PGs in this draft class in terms of value and production.

One of my worries about Wagler is their pace was so slow at Illinois.  They would get a rebound and very rarely try to push the pace.    Wagler is one of the guys I would have loved to watch in pickup games prior to the draft to see how he looks going up and down the court.

He was the guard I hoped would fall to 9, but like most of the other prospects I did have some questions on him.    I really liked his shooting, footwork and his ability to play through contact despite still growing into his body.   I think right now he is much better playing with a point guard.  That may change in the future.

Hey, I apologize for that. Way too scorched earth and bludgeoning, not being the guy I want to be. I had him on ignore but someone quoted him, and when I figured out who he was referring to, I erupted. For what it’s worth, I even apologize to him. I still believe it’s a shortsighted and uninsightful take, but he didn’t deserve that kind of language.

You are totally fine and was not trying to call you out specifically in any sort of way.

But I know reading counter-arguments (or arguments one may perceive as dumb) can be frustrating. Thankfully all one ever has to do is scroll down and the frustration should be gone. Overall though, no one should feel like they would be banned/limited from posting for poor takes. That's all I was trying to say.

As always you rock Scott!

Let's ban Scott for apologizing...and for trying to trade Naji.
