I liked Marquis Daniels and Josh Howard because they did a lot of good things on the floor. Ish and Serg did that.

Sure as the season goes along you need the shots to fall too but give me multi dimensional players anyday and hopefully the shots will fall. Both of them along with Rez seemed like they were everywhere. All 3 were very active and that’s something I personally look for when evaluating players.

They did kind of have a Howard and Queezy vibe out there a little. Nice pull.

I might extend the timeframe of that a bit.  Maybe it's the positions they play, but I just think Yaxel is better right now but I wouldn't hate having either of them on my team.  Thankfully we have one of them.

I think Yaxel has more style and flare. But who was Mays favorite because of impact? Rez. He the efficiency king on both sides of the court with almost no flare.

I am a big Nemby fan and think he sticks this year but I think you can clearly see the beginning of a vision of a type of team they want around Flagg. I am not sure that will include a 5’11 guard playing. I think he is an nba player though

I honestly expected Yaxel to be better than Morez not just for this game, but for at least a quarter of the early NBA season. But Rez just has that dawg in him to contribute right away. And even if Yaxel has more skill, Rez is there with him on this game. I expect Rez to be the better player as the season progresses.

As opposed to Larry, I expected him to struggle because of him having the jitters. His first official NBA game, would look pretty much the same if not worse. And it may take a few more games until he gets those butterflies out of his system. It's a good thing there's summer league and pre-season for that. But come his 10th to 15th game of the regular season -- watch out for Larry. He'd leapfrog a lot of Mavs on the totem pole.

I think both of them have the dog in them and both are very skilled and both play both ends of the court and are long and quick

I think he can be a very good floor leader if he focuses primarily on being a calming influence and a pass first PG.  

His mentality seems to be wanting to score first and pass if his shot is not there. That IMO is not the right approach

He had a few really nice assist games last year, but I'm struggling to see it.  He's young and his good DNA so I'm not going to write him off, but he needs to own summer league games.

Missed the game. Did most of Rex’s points come from dunks or down low? Saw he had the one three. If he can have a consistent jump shot he could be a very good player with his rebounding and defense.

I think we saw last year and in college that he gets players open shots and doesn’t turn the ball over.  Both very useful.  His weakness is teams play the pass on him.  He needs be able to keep the other teams honest.  I would argue it is a good time to try to score in summer league.

His size will always be an issue but I also think he usually doesn’t right thing.  Sometime it just doesn’t matter when you are so small.

Mostly around the basket.  Showed a willingness to pull the trigger from outside (good form, not horrible misses) and had some nice looking drives.  More well rounded than I expected from him even if he did talk about not utilizing all of his game in college because of the role he was asked to play.

I believe he hit multiple threes. He scored in various ways.

He did it in the flow of the game too.  Not once did I feel like he was summer league stats compiling.  With how bad the offense was in the first half, you can make the case he should have been featured more. 

It will be more difficult to score inside in real nba games but he feels
Like a guy who will quietly score while also impacting the game in a lot of other ways.

My biggest problem is that he plays slow. Rarely pushes the pace and dribbles the air out of the ball if he cannot find an easy read early in the shot clock. I guess it reduces turnovers but it also means that he isn't creating an advantage for the team.

My takeaway from today was that he got to Vegas late (yesterday, I believe), hadn't really practiced with the team and kind of walked into the situation expecting to be the center of everything. Hard to blame him based on how things went last summer and the fact that he probably sees himself as an NBA veteran comparatively, but...hopefully, he now understands that he's not the best player on the Mavs' summer league team. 

I think he might look better with his teammates after even one practice. He might've had one with them, but only one, if so.

What position do we think Ishenko is? Kind of a 2/3?

I'm really hoping to see him get more involved in the offense in the next one.
