(Until the deal is actually inked, I still have a tiny bit of wondering if his $6M number may turn out to be the amount he will get in the 1st year only, rather than the total including the TO.)
Even if it is the reported $6.0mm total, it would make some sense to front-load the higher number into the first year since that is the year he has to pay his share of the buyout.

Yes, that's one reason why I am thinking it's the biggest number possible in year 1, not the smallest. Also, if the Mavs are expecting they will exercise the option when the time comes, they would benefit by having a bigger number in year 1 when they have extra room, and a smaller number in year 2 when they might be a bit more challenged by cap limits.

There was a video of Lively taking a few steps and he looked like an 80 year old man. Locked on Mavs showed it on their YT channel. Might be nothing, but it wasn't a good look.

He didn't look to happy to be there. Masai might have said to come to this event or we are trading you to Sacramento

Nice try but Naji's aura always glows and brightness everything around him.

So now you know why there aren't any "trade Kyrie" whispers...

Dusty May trying to avoid the situation Steve Nash found himself in coaching Kyrie in Brooklyn.

$16,235,142 Luxury Tax Room
$23,477,557 First Apron Space
$12,117,171 Non-taxpayer Mid-Level remaining
$21,080,154 Anthony Davis TPE available
The Mavs absolutely can NOT exceed the first apron this season, at any point. They can go into the tax; however, I think that's very unlikely.
With Tarik’s deal reported. These numbers are now confirmed. (Based on my calculations) which I believe to be 99.99% accurate.

There’s still time for Dan, Gump, or SH to tell me I missed something. That’s what the .01 is for…

Saw it now. That did look like a 80 year old man with a broken back, two titanium hips, knew replacements and ten screws in his foot. You see Dirk or McHale walk you can tell the foot/ankle is a mess, but the rest of their body moves fairly fine. Looking at the footage, I´d have guessed he wrecked his back in a car crash. Now I´m actually thinking the Mavs will let him go and pay him some money under the table. I mean why make it count against the CBA. If that is his new normal, his basketball career is over and he is just fighting to live a normal life. I feel so bad for Lively.

1:30 mark. I don't really have a strong reaction to that 2 second clip of him.
Just in general, I think the likelihood he is healthy long term is probably like 20-30%. Guys like this don't just need to recover from their current injury. There's always another injury on the horizon. Besides the foot problem(s), he has allready missed time with ankle, knee, and back injuries.

Anything you get from DLive going forward is a bonus. Much easier to look at it that way. At least for me.

Whatever happens with Lively, I don't think anyone pencils him in a starter at the beginning of the season.
The more I think about Rez at center (or at least a starter), the more obvious it seems. He knows Dusty's plays and probably is confident in whatever action will be required on the court.

He may not start early on but I think he’ll play starter minutes… soon, if not right away. We were talking through some 5-man lineup options the other day and I do like Morez over Gafford on paper. Sasser and Sergio are competent PnR guys. Having Gafford run with them in the bench unit could maximize everyone’s strengths, while Morez might be a better fit with the starting group. Who knows… Long way to go.

I mentioned this yesterday, but the guys at DLLS were just salivating over the frontcourt lineup possibility of Morez, Adama, and Flagg (which I had never considered).
