Said on these boards after SA won the WCF that the Knicks are a tough matchup for them.

So when did Knicks fans start taking over buildings? Not like they have a Lakers history. Shocking how many Knicks fans are there.

Brunson might be the best three level scorer in the game right now. Seems ridiculous to say, I know, but 1-on-1, with a live dribble? I don't know that there's anyone I'd take over him, honestly.

I read something the other day about how it has been like this for the entire playoffs. MSG ticket prices have been so high it's actually cheaper for their fans to seem them play on the road.

I did t expect it in San Antonio though.

Knicks have won 12 straight and 8 straight on the road. One of the best runs in playoff history..I don't know what Mike Brown did to this team, but it’s obviously working. Hart had 15 rebounds, and KAT and Brunson took over.

You know that Acuff and Flemings are rooting that Brunson wins a chip. Will boost up their stock.

Spurs are in trouble...just like how they matched up perfectly against OKC, the Knicks match up perfectly against them. I think NY could have planned the parade once they knew that they would not be facing OKC

Towns has actually been one of the best players in this entire postseason, believe it or not. It IS a better matchup for the Knicks than OKC would've been. I mean, they didn't even shoot well tonight and were still able to come from behind.

Both teams struggled on offense. Especially from three. Brunson was struggling as well but he delivered in the clutch. Knicks should feel really good about this win. On paper they are the better shooting team and stole a game on an off night. They have more length to throw at Wemby than OKC and can actually switch without giving up mismatches. Did a really god job protecting Brunson. After the first three games of the Hawks series I thought that Brunson would be borderline unplayable in the playoffs but ever since they have found a way to keep him out of the pick and roll. Prevent isolations.
Mitch Johnson is just as inexperienced as his players and at times it shows. Spurs once again weren't able to set up Wemby in the paint. Was the same story in the series against OKC. Maybe just me but I would have closed the game with Harper. Harper already plays more like a vet than Fox and Castle. With those two on the floor it's pure chaos. Sometimes that's a good thing but against a half court defense like NY's it's a problem (just like in the OKC series). They still haven't found a solution for the Kornet minutes.

Kind of interesting thoughts crossed my mind: KAT was doing a little bit of the things against Wemby that Luka did to him - because in that matchup he‘s the faster guy, with the tighter handle, that can attack from the outside. Sounds stupid, but I think the Spurs quickly changed up their defense. Fascinating matchups!

Fox was horrible too. Couldn't buy a basket. Castle and Harper are really good. I expect the Spurs to bounce back in game 2. Knicks have the size up front to matchup with Wemby however.
Spurs may win the next 4, but that win was important for the Knicks last night. Probably more so than the Spurs. Knicks are in a legendary run where they can do no wrong. Ride that wave as long as possible. I think the Spurs know that they are not in a coronation and will need to get in another dog fight.
Boy do I love Josh Hart. Way too much we focus what guys cannot do and not what they are great at. I love guards/wings who are great rebounders and can grab a rebound and go or one that creates opportunities on second chance points. That is the exact type of dude that I hope Dallas looks to draft or find in FA or cheap trade. BTW, he was pick 30 9 years ago.

I still expect KAT to fold at some point in this series. (Yesterday, 08:29 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: Boy do I love Josh Hart. Way too much we focus what guys cannot do and not what they are great at. Burries was an elite rebounder for his position in college. Josh Hart is probably the player you get with Burries, although he probably gets there quicker and he has some Jamal Murray upside on offense. Josh Hart was kind of the Brunson model (or Bane). An older college player that was elite by their junior or senior year. That is definitely the kind of player Mavs should target later in the draft. |
