AROUND the NBA:
The Cavs team is maddening and prevented me from saying, "suck it, JB".  Two terrible losses rolled up into one package.

Wow, I went to bed because I thought that game was over.

This loss is on Kenny Atkinson.. He didn't burn any timeouts when Brunson went on one of his burners to get them back in the game. Then he didn't change the coverage on Brunson, who hunted Harden on P&R's with impunity. Mitchell who played well, didn't touch the ball from the end of regulation and OT. And Cleveland stopped playing through Mobley and Allen who were having success inside the paint. Total botch job by Cleveland who should have got the split they were looking for. Then he says he never thought about benching Harden, because he was playing good defense.

This Blazers owner is a different breed.

I don't. Their fans are overconfident and obnoxious. If it took another 53 years for them to win a title, it's alright by me.

This is pretty great. Wemby hates Chet. I was listening to a podcast a few weeks ago and windhorst was talking about this as he spent a lot of time with Wemby pre draft. Supposedly Wemby’s mom hates Chet too. Chet really rubbed it in at the game where he won mvp with team USA and Wemby never forgot it.

I think watching SGA get the MVP award right in front of him really motivated Wemby during Game 1. Interesting to see if he sustains that into Game 2.

Petty is my favorite type of rivalry.  Just when I thought I couldn't love Wemby more.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has a -35.6 net on-off rating in this year's playoffs.

That is the lowest mark of any qualified player still remaining in the postseason.

France was winning. Wemby dominated Chet. Wemby fouled out on what many consider to be a BS call. US won. Chet MVP with a 10pts/2reb/5ast statline. Scoring most of his points after Wemby fouled out. Wemby with 20pts/8reb/8blk.
Best player on team USA was Kenny Lofton Jr. Undersized chubby PF that played for the Grizzlies.

Another name for the Bulls' coaching search: Jerry Stackhouse, fresh off a stint as a Warriors assistant, has emerged as a candidate in Chicago, sources tell @JakeLFischer and me.

Something is amiss with SGA's game in these playoffs. His shot is off, and he's not as efficient as he normally is.  I'd say tonight is a must-win game for OKC. They don't want to go down 0-2 to a team that has beaten them 5 out of 6 times this year, with the next 2 in SA.

It feels icky as a Mavs fan to root for San Antonio, but...I hope OKC gets swept, personally. That would make me so freaking happy.

Lakers started it. Spurs copied it. SGA is getting blitzed a lot. Spurs are willing to overload and help/shadow one pass away. SGA doesn't have the passing vision of a prime LBJ/Luka/Jokic. Won't throw a cross court pass to the weak side corner.
OKC needs to make some adjustments. Create easier reads for SGA. High post and ellbow touches instead of trying to create from the top of the key. Make sure that he at least knows where the double team/help is coming from.

Hate his foul baiting BS but he is a great player and will probably figure it out sooner than later.

Interesting first quarter. Some minute management after the double OT drama two days ago. OKC 11-deep in just the first quarter. SGA only played 7 minutes. Wemby 6 minutes.

Castle reminds me of a young Westbrook. Incredible talent. Irrational confidence. Only knows one pace. Absolutely no control. Monster dunk followed by turnovers that make me question if he even belongs in the NBA.
