So he likes Burries and Brown and not as high on Yaxel.  I'm good with that.

At least one of this guy, Brown or Burries will be available to Mavs at 9, and I would be happy with any of them.

I don't know. Reading it again, It's not anything Schmitz said. it just sounds like it's what Sam Guertler "thinks" Mike Schmitz would like.

Still would be good with me though.

This guy rubs me the wrong way. I get what's enticing about him, but he seems arrogant and a little dumb to me.

Just saw a long interview with him on NBA TV. I'm pretty sure he thinks about basketball every second of every day.

One analysts said his weak defense was at least partially because Calapari made sure he knew that he absolutely could not foul out.

I’m just happy you’ve come around on Brown.  One less poster to debate with though.. :/

It's really not that difficult. Buzz words are "winning, energy, hustle, hard work, leadership, learning"...and so on. "Accolades" is probably one of the worst answers one could offer in a setting like this.

The thing with Brown is a lot of analysts were watching him before his freshman year... and had really high expectations for him. And most of those analysts stuck with him during the rough patches at Louisville (much like they stuck with Peterson).

I'm thinking Brown stays in the top 8 based on a longer track record than just a season at Louisville.

So should this kid be looked at with pick 9 or too early?

He probably crushed all the interviews. Likable kid with a ‘great personality’ vibes.

Alphas tend to have that trait. The arrogant part, not the dumb part.

That clip just makes him look a little introverted and combined with his deep and somewhat monotone voice I could see how his demeanor would turn off some people.

No, but Dennis Schroeder at #30 would be a nice outcome.

I have him in the same tier as the other lottery guards. Would pick Burries, Wagler and Flemings over him. Not sure about Brown. Would pick him over Acuff and Philon. Probably not enough for #9 because I really like the Michigan trio and Steinbach. But that brings me back to the trade down/trade for another mid 1st scenario.
