@MikeACurtis2
#Mavs guard Brandon Williams (left quad contusion) has been downgraded to questionable for tonight's game against the #Magic. Cooper Flagg remains questionable, while Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson remain probable. Two-ways Moussa Cisse, John Poulakidas and Tyler Smith have been downgraded to doubtful. @All_Things_Mavs Michael Finley says the plan is for Cooper Flagg to play tonight against the Orlando Magic, but it is still "a game-time decision." If you are a fan of shooting, you may want to skip this game tonight.
Sounds like Mosely will be fired this offseason. Him and Paolo have been talking in the media. Getting rid of the coach will happen before they look to move Paolo.

Can we trade Kidd for Mosely?

Klay is having a nice game. Always good to see. Wonder where he's playing next season.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory!

Another tough loss. At least they are, on most nights, somewhat competitive.

A good night so far. Ainge force-fed a loss-win. Since the Pels aren't tanking, we can root for them to win outright.

Coop was aggressive and made some really nice plays. Missed some shots he has been making and it was a poor shooting night. It was good to see the Mavs hit some threes.
First time I have seen Paolo this year. Man, was I not impressed. I think I actually heard some groans when he took a three late in the game. Some of the body language stuff not great with him either. They are missing Franz, but I would be surprised if that team does anything in the playoffs this year.

Couple of more notes...just one game.
Found it interesting Coop was running point and Nemby got the backup minutes. They did not play together. Running Coop at point may have the best future benefit, but him playing with a point is the best lineup now. I was watching Kyrie highlights from last year a few nights ago. Having him and another offensive creator will really open the floor for Coop. PJ played better. I think any hope of him being able to handle and create has been answered. He is best when playing with a big, physical team and he can be your 4th or 5th option and score at the basket and open threes. Lets see if he can string together some good games. Marshall has a off game. He has not had many of those. The one concern I have (besides shooting) is when he plays well it is in a role where he is one of the main creators. When he is not in this role, how does his play style and effectiveness change. Max was really quiet last night. I am still surprised there was little/no Klay interest at the deadline. I know he has another year left on his contract, but you can't tell me can't help a good team off the bench. Gafford gets injured like 2-3 times each game. The explosion from the past two years is not really there. Not sure if this is due to all the injuries or something else. You have to appreciate him trying to play every night.

Having Franz would help, but they are barely getting anything from Wendall Carter Jr. Anthony Black has taken a mild leap, but Jalen Suggs is always hurt. Bane and Da Silva have been their most consistent players. The Magic were too busy reading their press clippings before the start of the season, saying they were a top 3 or 4 team in the conference. Mosley is on the hot seat for sure if they fail to even make the playoffs. |
