Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST

He is basically to Milwaukee what Dirk was to us.

Right. I watched a podcast the other day that hinted at this game of cat and mouse in pretty explicit terms. They basically accused Giannis of playing up his latest injury (he was talking about how long he'd be out during that night's press conference before he had even had the necessary examinations to determine the type/severity of the injury) in an attempt to motivate MIL to trade him without him having to publicly ask. He seems to be REALLY focussed on avoiding that part, and MIL seems to be REALLY determined not to trade him, if we're paying attention. I honestly think they're going to force him to go there, and they are probably right to do so. That franchise just doesn't have many chances at players like him.

A team that has been linked to Ja Morant reportedly wants Memphis to attach picks to Morant to get a deal done, per @BannedMacMahon

Of freaking course. Dog bites man.

The Philadelphia 76ers are trading Eric Gordon and a 2032 second-round pick swap to the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell ESPN. This gives the 76ers the flexibility to complete conversion of two-way Dominick Barlow.

From HoopsRumors:

"Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints hears that a Zubac deal before the deadline is “extremely unlikely,” adding that it would take at least two unprotected first-round picks and a young player to land him (Twitter link).

Indiana is searching for a reliable center in anticipation of becoming a title contender again when Tyrese Haliburton returns next season. Zubac is under contract for $19.6MM and $21MM over the next two years, which would be an affordable solution for the Pacers. Gafford is signed for the next three seasons at $17.3MM, $18.1MM and $19MM, but it’s not clear how motivated the Mavericks are to move him."

They can have Gafford for a less-daunting package than what the Clipps want for Zubac.

I'm holding out for a 1st from Indiana for Gafford. Sounds like they are desperate for a Center. And Zubac seems to have a sky high price tag.

Same. And now, they CAN hold out for top value in these deals.

Re-visit in summer. Makes sense for both teams.

There was a recent tweet that the Clipps wanted the Pacers' '26 unprotected for Zubac.

My ask from Indiana would be swap rights. They still get a decently high pick if we take theirs.

...and, just like that, what I wrote is obsolete.

Well, right now they have some matching salary in Mathurin.  That's probably the main reason they're looking for a Center right now.  After he's gone, the matching salary would be Obi Toppin making $14 million a year.  Other teams dont want that matching salary.

I want to take my like back. I dislike.

That's probably curtains for the Mavs deadline.

Ok what in the world did the Clips get for Zubac

And is this their signal that they are officially tanking the rest of the year?

I wonder if they got Mathurin and 2 first rd picks

or maybe the Pacers said you take Obi Toppin back and we'll give you the two 1st rd picks you desire

Two first-round picks are in fact going to the Clippers for Ivica Zubac, league sources told @ClutchPoints.

Still awaiting word on the player(s) involved from Indiana.

They don´t have their pick. Still belongs to the Thunder. They likely turn him into Mathurin and suddenly have two young players in backcourt after having one foot in the grave a week ago.

No way the Pacers can give up their 2026 pick.

I would expect a 1st for Gaff from Indy. PERIOD. I would accept whatever trade filler they want to send (that's legal, and doesn't land DAL over the tax line) but I'm not subbing that filler for draft value - I still want the 1st, regardless. They expect to be really really good again, and will get a top 5 pick, and can be even better with a good C like Gaff, so it's a very high likelihood that pick isn't going to be special. LAC asking for 2 unprotected 1sts is right in line with that projection -- probably isn't much value that will be conveyed anyhow, but I want the upside potential of something better, as part of the pick I get.

EDITED - I see they did the LAC deal.

Man, I think they might have gotten that pick. We'll see in a few minutes.
