@ShamsCharania
The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to trade Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to the Phoenix Suns for Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis, sources tell ESPN.

Lets see who wins the Morant sweepstakes now

I think it is more about hope they can get better offers for Giannis in the summer. Or get lucky with a top 5 pick and convince him they can be competitive again.

Especially if they don't see paying him close to the number he expects. How many teams have cap room this summer? They may balk at paying 20 plus million for a guy who will be coming off the bench.

Milwaukee could sweeten the deal with just one FRP (and it wouldn't be really wise for them to do that). Of course I don't know what Miami is offering. Something like Rozier, Fontecchio and Mitchel?

I think holding onto Giannis now is the smart move. A lot of the same teams will be interested this offseason. Plus other teams will join. Getting a top 5 pick will be tricky. They will need their pick and the Pelicans pick to both be in the top 5. Although, that would be the last hope they have. Well let me back that up, they will offer Giannis a huge extension. If he takes it, they keep him. I assume he will not take it though...and that will begin the real trade conversations.

Maybe MIL will be open to a highly attractive OKC 2026 first round pick and a top 20 GSW pick in 2030 as a package for Giannis?

Milwaukee could also focus only on small deals, selling their vet min vets for younger players who need a change of scenery or minutes. Tank will be the top priority now, imho

I think A) MIL still thinks they can find a way to hold onto Giannis. Still. B) The main reason the team isn't good is the lack of a PG. C) They are desperate enough to connect the dots between A and B and convince themselves Morant is the answer. D) MEM just wants rid of Morant, at this point. This is key, because I believe they'll accept the best "firm" offer they get today. Riley might have interest, but he'll try to nickel and dime it, as always. I can see it happening, personally.

If we thought living with the AD constipation until summer was bad, can you imagine what it's like for the Memphis fanbase? And the FO probably feels like its living with a live grenade. Memphis isn't the place for this guy.

Yeah, Memphis will get less than what we got for AD for Ja.

Does Myles Turner have any value? Would a team like the Lakers take him on for cheap?

I think MIL still thinks they can keep Giannis, based on his total unwillingness to "be the bad guy" publicly. I might be totally wrong, but I think they've shifted to "add mode" today. We'll see.

Rebounding is his weakness, no doubt. But, he's a GOOD defender, and "standing outside the 3 point line" has value. Big value. He's also a good cutter and screener. You don't think GS wouldn't have rather had him than Porzingis? I don't see ANY indication that MIL is wanting to move Turner. I think they (rightfully) think he's a good fit with Giannis, and that they (probably wrongfully) can add enough before Giannis publicly states his desire to be traded (taking them off the hook with their fans) to convince him to stay, making the fit between he and Turner matter. |
