Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST

Just trying to find a way to get a 2027 pick. I know everyone says the draft is weak, but almost every draft has good players in it, and we need young talent coming in to play next to Cooper.

The financial urgency for the Mavericks to make a move has passed now that they've made their Anthony Davis trade.

Yeah, no need for space now.  It should be all about players and picks.  Not sure this makes much sense now (unless they can get one of those firsts).

No thanks. I'm not  in favor of sending Gafford and the #30 pick for a nobody player and a pick 4 years from now.  They should use Gafford to get another draft pick, not to.enhance one 4 years from now.

What assets would you guys want in order to trade

Gafford + Klay to Atlanta for KP?

Personally I think most of the guys we draft to play with Flagg will be coming out of the 26 draft.  Hopefully after that we will use picks to acquire young established players.

You could add someone like Newell or Gueye to Kennard.  Maybe instead of a pick, it is a 2026 swap with the Cleveland pick and the OKC pick.

Now they're in a position where they can wait til the last minute for another team to give in.

Lal: Gafford, Dosunmu

Poetl is a MASSIVE contract and it runs for FIVE (!) years (with the last 3 at 27.3, 29.5, 27.3). That's way more obligation than you can make worth it for picks, imo.

Mavs are not restricted by A1 right now. They are now almost 22M below the hard cap that applies to them (A2), not that I think they would want to go there.

Idk. There’s room to do something with KP now if you want.

KP + ‘27 FRP
Gafford+Martin

Mavs add $6.7M but stay under the tax. Clear a roster spot and get off Martin’s deal, while getting a pick in ‘27, which they currently don’t have? Can look at bringing back KP in the summer on a 1 year type deal?

Boston had Gafford on roller skates all night last night.    He has also been hurt most of the year.   He hasn't been very good this year.

With that being said, I am in no hurry to trade him now unless I get a offer I can't turn down.   Even when Lively is healthy, you need someone to fill in 22-24 minutes a night with him.    Gafford has been mostly healthy but has had a bad string of luck since his knee injury last year.

Sign me up minus brining KP back in the summer.

Atlanta is not willing to trade a FRP even for Gafford alone, yet alone eating Martins salary along the way. Gafford does not make them a contender and KP will be gone in the summer anyway.

That '27 pick is the worse of NOP and MIL, protected 1-4, so it could be pretty good. Crazy thing is, if they both fall in the top-4 NOP keeps both of them? I think that's how the protection reads.

Also, too much noise with Atlanta and Gafford.   These things tend to come out of no where.   I think that is out there for a reason....not being ATL is a real target

Atlanta just took Landale from Utah and Cleveland sent Ball to Utah.

Then maybe it’s Naji… just trying to think outside the box is all. We’ve said the same things over and over Smile

I'm not sure there is a trade there, but I agree with @omahen that Gafford to LA is a good fit.

Atlanta obviously decided to go the patient way building around their young core. I don't see them trading picks unless they are for a surefire star
