You must have been out of the country for the last two weeks.

Nets will have to cut one player unless they make some more moves. Cam Thomas?

I read he wasn't traveling with the team today.

Nah. They have had some fortunate losses, but have been competitive. Ask Mavs2025 if they've tanked properly this year.

If you watched the game last night, this team is truly terrible beyond Cooper. If Kyrie comes back, I'm sure he will be on heavy restriction, and Kidd has led a tank before, he knows what he needs to do.

They are a plucky bunch, play hard and until the clock hits triple zeroes.

If you watched games over the past month, you know that if Flagg has a great game and a couple of the other guys have decent games, the Mavs can win games we don't want them to win.

The Hawks have continued to express interest in trading for Dallas' Daniel Gafford, league sources say.

Kennard for Gafford works money wise, not sure what else Atlanta would be willing to include.

Here is a trade outline I think could be fair for all involved:
Dal: Vincent, LAL2031 FRP
Chi: Ayton, Knecht, OKC2026 FRP (from Mavs)
Lal: Gafford, Dosunmu

Charlotte has a fair amount of dead weight contracts: Josh Green and Grant Williams are both due 14 million next year. Mann is due 8 next year. Naji+Powell works for the first two, Naji works straight up for Mann. Naji+Gafford+Powell works for Green and Williams.

I dont think the Mavs are in the business of taking on bad contracts after finally getting some relief.

Why would the Mavs do this?

In talks between the teams this week, league sources say, Dallas has sought a first-round pick and Atlanta has countered with second-round compensation. The financial urgency for the Mavericks to make a move has passed now that they've made their Anthony Davis trade.

Because they get an unprotected FRP for #30 pick

I wouldn't mind doing that in conjunction with trading our useful assets that we mistakenly thought had potential to bring back FRPs (Naji, Landlord) if that can improve the draft capital coming back and helps solidify this years tank.  How much and how long matters of course.

Is this the Josh Green and Grant Williams DAL couldn't wait to get rid of a few years back?
