That means we should be getting the Sabonis to the Raptors tweet at any minute.

Exactly!   And fans like him.   BWI, Coopa,  and Gaff get the fans going.

Sexton was good in Charlotte.    White should be fun and good there as well. Charlotte is a fun team.    Not sure if there is a role for him long term....unless he wants to come off the bench.

Charlotte also gets Conley from Chicago. Edit: Chicago gets Sexton from Charlotte and Dieng from OKC. 3 SRP going to Chicago.

If Conley is bought out, Minny can pick him up on the buyout market (they really, really liked him)

White to Charlotte doesn't make much sense for them, imho. More or less a deal to make a deal.

Realistically I’d need at least 2 firsts to eat that Poetl deal. But then again someone gave us two firsts for AD so.

Chicago looks like they have zero plan.

They got Dieng for a couple of months to assess and 3 SRP. White was not in their long-term plans. I don't think they made a bad move, just a reality of a market value of a player like White

Mavs don't have the room below A1 to absorb it though. Only ~$15M below the hard cap. I doubt they even want to go back into the tax for a "bad contract".

Man, I don't know.  If he had 2 or 3 years left at $20 million, maybe, but he has 4 more years and the last 3 are at $28M+ AAV when he's probably going to be a 3rd or 4th guy off the bench.

Never been this hyped about financial flexibility.

I like that the Mavs still have 24 hours to do something with it. They can now take back more salary in a trade for instance. Big deal? We'll see.

Have we ever actually used a TPE? Feels like they always just expire for us.

Another thing I like about this move (I'm sure Killer as well) is that there is no longer any question as to what the direction of this team is. The are in full rebuild mode. They should turn up the tank now. No need to bring back Kyrie this season. Every move from this point is about long term.

The more I think about it, the more I'm smiling.

Even in our best case, hopeful ATL deals, the flexibility was to come from expirings and being a non-tax team NEXT season. It's finally locking in for me that they got under the tax line NOW. They won't pay tax THIS season, which makes ideas like using that TPE to take a bad contract in exchange for receiving actual good draft capital (just an example) pretty viable. Basically, any way it's possible to improve their circumstances gets the green light, starting this summer.

Truly, this is worth something. I think this deal might be better than the ATL deal we talked about for the past two months. I'm not sure AJ Johnson will be anything, and I certainly don't like him as much as Risacher, but...he's super athletic, can handle and is a GUARD! I like him just as much if not more than Newell, for example. And, they got 5 picks out of this. Crap picks, maybe, but there are 5 of them.

I'm liking this deal more and more.

We did the one year Linsey was here.  I think used it to take on bad salary for a first round pick during the Lively draft.
