Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST

We actually don't have to talk about keeping him. He plays well, and it means we keep him longer, and\or the returns on the trade is better. Either way is good.

It may end up being about salaries too. The longer he plays good, meaningful games without injury it's a bonus no matter what.

The “but if we keep him and he’s playing good we’re gonna ruin our draft position!!!” Crowd is furious that he’s back. It’s almost like he’s actually good when he can be on the court.

He is a lot better after being fully healthy and in better shape.  I'm glad they gave him some time before bringing him back on the court.  Probably taking the same approach with Lively.

I say keep both or trade both.

This team can be good when healthy. Big IF no doubt.  I wouldnt mind seeing the last half of the season with Kyrie, AD, Flagg.  Maybe mixing in a trade of one of P.J., Gafford, Marshall for more shooting and balance.

But i'm also ok with maximizing the value of both in trades. and adding picks/young players around Flagg and Lively.

Just let them play the games and see where the record takes us come february trade deadline. I could see this thing going either direction.

[Canellis] Giannis and his representatives reached out to the Bulls about a potential deal, and the Bulls said they weren’t interested. They were not interested in breaking up their young core or changing their course of direction

I think the blurb I saw with AD rumors was they weren't willing to break up their core either. They have a bunch of draft picks though.

Every rumor of a team expressing reluctance towards trading for Giannis is one step closer to realizing that Dallas is very willing to deal and has the best potential offer on the table.

A lot more than Doncic package. But it's clear.

Anyway Doncic-Giannis is bad duo for me... They are both bad to very bad off the ball.

Ha.. Reaves have been awesome but as a upcoming FA tough to trade for him.  Rui is also a free agent.   I doubt the swaps have much value.    Don't see that happening.

Dalton Knecht is a negative asset. A throw-in.

He hasn't been the same since the Lakers traded him to Charlotte, but then it fell through. It affected him, I'm sure.

Kawhi Leonard has “negative value” if the Clippers were to try and explore trades, per @espn

“It may be difficult to find a landing spot for Leonard because of his injury and the Aspiration case still ongoing.”

James Harden wasn’t a fan of the Clippers signing Chris Paul, per @KevinOConnor

“I've heard from multiple sources that James Harden was opposed to the Chris Paul signing, that he was one of the guys who was like, ‘Eh, I'm not so sure here.’ And then this ended up happening.”

The Bucks could blow it up and also trade Myles Turner, Kyle Kuzma, and Bobby Portis if Giannis leaves, per @JakeLFischer

“That could mean several different outcomes … outcomes that the Bucks are indeed projected by rival front offices to be actively pondering in coming weeks. Some teams out there think the post-Giannis Bucks would want to initiate a full-scale teardown that includes trading away veterans like the title-winning Bobby Portis, February acquisition Kyle Kuzma and offseason addition Myles Turner. Even then, though, there would be loud questions.”

The Clippers could try to move up their free agency timeline from the 2027 offseason to next summer, per @TimBontemps

“This would require finding trade partners with cap room to take on James Harden and Leonard.”

I sincerely hope Lakers didn't really make this offer. Reaves has been awesome and somehow he is significantly better every season, despite already being 28. This kind of things can break relationships and Lakers can't replace him if he chooses to walk in the summer.

I think this kind of offer would be nowhere near enough for Giannis, which is a reason why I wouldn't even make it. Reaves has been great but his market value is low as he will be FA in the summer and there is no guarantee he will resign. If he walks, Bucks would be trading Giannis for a bunch of expiring contracts and 1 FRP. It would never happen, imho.
