Thanks. Just reading now. One thing is certain, Cuban cannot be put back in a basketball decision role. Or maybe even influence. Halfway thru but Harrison blamed Cuban for Brunson and Wood.

Cuban last run as basketball decision maker was disastrous up until him selling. Don’t let him back in!

Tons of stuff in there about the politics behind the scenes amongst Dumont / Harrison / Cuban. Personally I am sick and tired of reading about all that. But the big takeaway in terms of basketball stuff is that they have decided to fully commit to the Cooper Flagg timeline and are looking for what is out there for AD. 

The rebuild is on. And that’s finally a good thing.

Not really.  It reads like he was pushed out way before the Luka trade.  I don't think there is any chance Cuban would even consider a Luka trade.

I thought the bit about Christian Wood was interesting. You could tell Kidd wasn't into having him here.

The thing I wish MacMahon would've included more of was info from his sources about why the Doncic trade was made. The article touched on all the logic Harrison used to sell the deal to Dumont, and I'm sure Harrison (and whomever else thought it was time to get out of the Luka business) believed all of that and was at least partially motivated by it, but it feels like there's still some reporting meat on the bone there.

Interesting thing is McMahon believes the co-GM thing will be in place through this trade deadline. And that AD trades will be looked at before this trade deadline.

So we're giving the keys to a major franchise altering trade to the Finley, Riccardi duo.  At least the message appears clear. Sell for the future that fits a Cooper Flagg timeline.  I dont hate it. Just wish we could get Lilndsey or whoever on board before the deadline.

Was he frustrated with Luka? Was it real frustration or similar complaining you do about a wife or kid?

How much input did he have in roster decisions? Was he on board with the roster entering the season?

Did him and Nico have a falling out and how has that gone down? When did it happen if it did?

Does a kids see himself as the head coach for the next phase?

A lot of kids questions that I believe have not been answered.

Harrison is correct on blaming Brunson on the former MBT, but it was also the first sign for me that he wasn't all that as he, the relationship guy, couldn't even get a conversation with Brunson and his camp that summer.

Nico was the GM when they decided not to offer Brunson an extension and when they made the trade for Wood.  It sounds like it was very murky who was actually calling the shots, but not surprising Nico puts everything bad on Cuban when trying to take over organization power.

This franchise has a dumb FO/ownership for 25 years but it stumbled into two top 20 players of all-time. Now they get Flagg as a 1,8% chance and stumble into a generational draft the next year, so accelerate the rebuild. Wouldn´t be nearly as fun with Risacher and Sarr.
