I am glad the fans had influence but I still don't buy the whole story.

I still believe in the Nico mission and will do my best to fulfill it; however the chanting at the games was getting in the way of our fun. -Gov

Dumont is a dumb ass that never ever should have bought the team.

Nico is a traitor for having anything to do with LA.

The Doncic trade was one that will top the record books as the worst ever in history for any sport history.

We looked better last night Cooper is going to continue to improve but we might as well tank the rest of the season and let the young guys play while healing up the vets. We can draft the best PG if the pick works out.

Goal to resurrect the 3 point shooting.
I would see what we get offered for Klay and play Max in his place.
Hardy now fits on this team as a 3 point shooter as a back up SG.
Cooper was shooting 3 pointers at a better clip he needs to get his shot back we need him shooting 3 pointers at 40%.
Brandon Williams is the best PG till Ky returns but we need a coach that stop playing Cooper at PG he is not a PG.

I do not care if we turn it around and win the title this year firing Nico was justified for sure no matter what happens good for us because he showed us what a moron he was. You never trade someone that most consider a potential MVP talent NEVER!!!

Not sure how he could spin this. We'll see. I'm no fan of the guy, but sometimes people learn from massive failure.

Interesting for me is, who leaked the news. If its Dumont, it is really not classy. Nico deserves what he will get, but not like this. If it is someone Dumont told him about what he is going to do, he should be really careful who he surrounds himself with.

Almost everything gets leaked to choice persons of the press

I think it will be simple (of course using many more words): "I listened to wrong advice and I was wrong. I am sorry, I will do anything needed to correct my mistake. I will hire best people for the job after conducting an extensive search around the market. Go Mavs!"

Luka trade didn't Smile Some things shouldn't be leaked, imho. This is one of them.

The Mavericks and Patrick Dumont have 10:30 am central time meetings to appoint executives Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi to lead basketball operations in interim, sources tell me and Tim MacMahon.

The Locked On podcast did an episode this summer where it was an interview with Riccardi.  I was impressed.  Good experience and cap knowledge (and he went to UT Tyler, so he must be great).  I'd highly recommend a listen if you don't know anything about him.

True, but that trade was noteworthy in that sense. The lack of leak was talked about because of how unusual that is.

I watched that, yeah. Smart guy. Didn't really give off "big boss" vibes to me though.

Why I think it is not fair to leak something like this is, because looks like people involved were not aware what is going to happen. If Nico already knew the message, than the leak is ok. It is not nice to blindside people to learn news like this from the media.

Of course it is possible, that Nico already knew he is done and todays meeting is just a formality. In that case the leak is ok in my book Smile

I don't know what's going on and what's not - who knew what and who didn't. And, ordinarily I'd be right there with you on this one.

But, in this specific case...the Adelsons weren't really interested in buying a basketball team when they acquired the Mavericks. What they were trying to buy was good will in DFW, really (I think). The past 9 months have resulted in the entire city HATING them with the fire of 10,000 suns. It has all backfired, and I'd bet it's making whatever blood-sucking, soulless 1% "DFW takeover" plan they have in play much more difficult to navigate than they'd like.

In this case, I think publicly offering up Harrison as the "pound of flesh" the mob has never stopped demanding is kind of the whole point.

I totally agree about the second paragraph. Last part (assuming Nico was blindsided) just tells more about who and what they are. It wouldn't make any difference if this news was made public immediately after the meeting. It is just a couple of hours.

It's a start. Now axe Kidd and sell the team.
