Maybe it's only possible for you and a few others??? Not sure, just saying...that was wild. You said "I'm giving the Mavs permission for only one choice: Cooper Flagg" (or something similar) and then they actually won the lottery.
You should try "I'm giving the Mavs permission to win the championship this year." You know, for science.

LOL my Mav wish list (in order) is...
1 Fire Nico
2 Get and stay healthy
3 Players develop and get better
That would give them a long run of elite basketball, and a shot at titles year after year.
If they are gifted a title with Nico here, we will never be free of his incompetence. Bad evaluating and negotiating would be inevitable and imperil all that is good. So Fire Nico is #1 on my wish list.

I think I’d go with:
1 Win a championship
2 Win a lot of games
3 Build team and develop players so we can win a lot of games in the future
If Nico is the guy that’s around while those goals are achieved, I’m fine with that.

I‘m not sure Forrest could have done this on his own - but since we joined powers early it was inevitable.

His point was he does not think all of these things are possible with Nico in charge long term (I happen to agree).

Mavs schedule out. 23 nationally televised games. First five games at home. NOt one of the top teams with back to backs.
After a quick glance, I think I see 74 wins for the year.

Why only 74???? Rampant pessimism? Or just thinking Kyrie may not be back on day one?

That will make it tough if they have to move to tank mode at the end.

How many do they need to win?
Don’t average NBA teams win about 2/3 of their home games, 1/3 of their road games?
So, if they’re just average, we’d expect about 9 2/3 home wins, and 1 1/3 road win, for a 11-7 record.
Are they just average?

That’s crazy, but gives us a good chance to start the season with a good record even without Kyrie and not having to play catch-up all year.
That is if we click from the start. If we start with a 7-11 record with 14 home games gone the season could be lost quickly.

Well once upon a time the worst pick in Mavs history.
Then there was Randy White, Samaki Walker, and Cherokee Parks to name a slew

Would be hilarious to know, when exactly the NBA´s first framework of the schedule is drawn, cause that ain´t happening BEFORE they KNEW about Cooper Flagg.

I dont think there is any correlation to miles travelled and injuries, but I don't understand why a team so central to everything has to travel so much more than others.

I think Garnett was the worst, as well as the first, of those awful 1st-round selections by the Mavs, especially since he was such a high pick and it was a young team with lots of minutes available to a player who could play decently.
But all the ones you named were pretty bad choices, and there were many more 1st rounders they selected that were sucky as well. It would probably be way easier (and a much shorter list) to name the ones who turned out good, rather than the ones who were a whiff. (To me, the worst whiff, by a lot, was Larkin over Giannis. Ugh.)

this is a small thing but did the Mavs make any PR response to the assistants who moved on? It is just the simple stuff that they don't do. A quick Instagram post thanking people leaving the organization. Have Kidd say something or get Nico to make a comment. I just want them to be nice to people. Maybe they are, but it certainly seems like there are a lot of loose ends.
