A little surprised that he's only 30.

LeBron isn't gonna "ask out." And if he does, I don't think Harrison will want him. Maybe in a world where they hadn't just won the lottery, but not now.

Cameron Payne
Tre Jones
Dalano Banton(?)

Any of these guys worth the TPMLE?

I like Tyus Jones.  Seems like a good fit and might be had for tax MLE.

Lebron, the Mavs will give you the ENTIRE tax MLE. All 5.7M.

They're too far over the 1st apron for a sign and trade to be an option.

I'm not saying it would happen, but I could see him wanting to play with AD and Kyrie again and quickly contradict his "ring culture" sentiment from a few weeks back.  And for Lebron haters, you should really hope D'Lo ends up on this team.  lol

less money. LeBron’s decision to opt in doesn’t change his win now calculus unless his camp is pushing the Lakers to agree to a resign with more years but less money this season, and the Lakers refused.

Has he?  He is still a quality defender and had one of the better offensive seasons of his career (over 40% from 3).  I would argue he is still easily worth the full MLE.

D Lo knows AD well enough to get him lots of assists so I see his value there. His 3 point shot dropped off some last season but being on Dallas with Cooper AD Lively and PJ at SF that starting line up is enough to scare other teams into staying in the locker room and refusing to come out. Now if he can play some defense that would help but with our size all he has to do is concentrate on guarding the perimeter.

Just sayin'...

Klay, Gafford, Naji, Martin and OMax
for
Lebron

is EXACTLY $52.6 million for $52.6 million...

Classic Lebron tactic every single summer. Threatens to force his way out to make the Lakers get good guys. They fail to get good guys because Lebron's contract is too big. They go at a stalemate, the team is bad, rinse and repeat.

And now the Mavs need to sign 4 more players with less than 5.5 mil remaining for the entire roster. So it ain't happening.

Nico would totally give them back their pick.  I'd do it if they gave us 31.

Hey, I'm not saying pro or con, I'm just saying that in a world where math exists, there lies a rather strange symmetry. One that someone like Nico would probably interpret as divine and so meant to be as to "Just Do it".

We got Flagg playing PG in summer league so I am waiting on that. If I am the mavs I wait to see money dwindle and see if Cooper makes it looks easy enough to play PG some. If so you got him and BWILL and help from Hardy Klay Max Naji until Nembhard learns the offense then you got Flagg Bwill and Nembhard till Irving is back and that could work.

Now you got a roster spot to use with guys losing out on options and others getting cut that we might want and early season injuries making our trade bait looking like it is worth a lot more than it is and all that works to create more options.

Patience is a good thing because good things come to those who wait.

Now if D Lo comes in and signs first thing monday morning for the remaining money we have to take that offer and I am ok with doing that but now you have to work harder on selling teams on guys like O max and Hardy. Powell is an expiring so lots of tax teams will want him. Martin has to all of a sudden become a 3 point assasin for us to move him so the brain trust has its job cut out for itself.

We may have to call Boston and ask them if they want Powells expiring because we are about to just eat his contract and cut him so we can add a free agent so its now or never for you to shave that $4 million off your salary cap or not. That way you force them to accept a deal. Now you can add Exum or Kai. If Omax can develop into a decent asset then you can make teams take Martin to get him in the trade. If Hardy works out early this season you can keep him and let him develop and work on creating some more consistency.

Personally with Cooper and PJ I would keep OMax and Hardy both just to see if we could up that value and then trade them at the TDL. If Boston or some other team with a bloated salary does not want DP's expiring I just cut him to add Kai Jones.

Martin is here to showcase so we can trade him so we are trapped with him now and have to play him plenty of minutes to get his game and contract worth its 9.5 Million. He needs to show us he is worth that money so we can trade him. Otherwise he needs to ride the bench the 2nd half of the season and try again next season to see if he can develop him into a PG.

Don't forget dropping another roughly $10.5M to get below the 1st apron to make the sign and trade legal

There would be no SnT in this hypothetical trade... LeBron is under contract for one more year
