There is a reason why every single team he's been apart of has been giddy to let him go. Locker room cancer through and through.
Not every team - the Lakers wanted him back on a big contract he didn’t accept unfortunately. But most importantly the German national team didn’t want to get rid of him, but gave him the reigns after Dirk retired - and he lead them to the biggest success they ever had.
He is pushy, he is edgy, but he also poors his heart into winning, so there’s a much bigger chance to win something with him than with Exum or the other second or third tier point guards mentioned after Paul and Russell.

Is that a what are you hidden trade request for Lebron? Not too many teams could make that work yeah. Jarrett Allen and hunter for Lebron? Lebron gets back to the depleted East and Lakers get a long term good center.
Or is this a quote for the following season and will probably be his last as a Laker?

With Stein saying the Mavs are the overwhelming favorite for D-Lo, I will add again that he is more than a TPMLE player. I am just not a favorite of watching from afar. I am glad we are not expecting on hoping for a guy to take a minimum though.
My choices:
1) Chris Paul and minimum guard- I have not great expectation of Paul at this stage, but I would look at him as a 24 minute a game player. Just someone who can provide some organization for a team who lacks a guy who can organize.
2) Collin Sexton via trade. I doubt this happens. It would be at a discount (not Gafford or PJ), so it is probably a non starter for Utah unless it is a three team. I love his nickname (Young Bull) and Utah fans seem to really like him. He has never played in the playoffs and I could see him adapting to a good role on a good team. I would only rank him if it was a value deal for him
2) DLO-I would prefer him over Brogdon, Tyus Jones, Westbrook. He is a solid player, not so much last year.

Lakers getting something for LeBron would be imho far best long term option for them and Luka. I don't think they can compete next season anyway. I will be surprised if it happens, though

I have to disagree. He was a great influence and played well with Detroit last season. However, with Ivey returning and them drafting Chaz Lanier, I don't think there's room for him or THJ. Their other priority is re-signing Malik Beasley I would think.

How all 30 teams can ace Free Agency.
I'd love for them to go get White, I just don't think they have the assets.

Malik Beasley being investigated for gambling. He and Detroit were close on a three year extension. Now those talks are on pause and Detroit may look somewhere else.
Dorian declined his option and will be a free agent. 15 million is about right for him. I assume he just signs a longer extension at similar number. Returning to Lakers?
OKC signed Jaylin Williams.

I always assumed it is in mutual interest of Lakers and DFS to find a new deal. But, there was a lot of "noise" in the media lately, perhaps indicating someone might not be happy with Lakers offer. If he walks, Lakers lose the assets they paid for him at TDL (3 SRP). But, they do gain the option to use full MLE in this case.
Still, I expect they find a common language and DFS to remain a Laker.

Thanks, CJK, I hadn't heard about Beasley. Damn, way to screw up a good year. DFS will have his share of suitors if LA doesn't re-sign him.

BREAKING: Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden will decline his player option and plans to work with the team on a new deal, likely a two-year contract, sources tell me. Harden, a former MVP and elite playmaker, remains a central figure in the Clippers’ plans.

We’re going to see this happening more and more I fear. The pandora box of gambling has been opened. Unfortunate.
I for one despise the new gambling era we are in.

I know you’re probably being sarcastic but I really don’t haha.
Everything is so truncated between the draft and now free agency. The finals were so drawn out it felt like it lasted almost 2 months.

Dorian has slipped a little and isn’t worth $15 million. I expect he’d get something like the smaller exception with so few teams having salary flexibility. This must be for the Lakers to give him more years at
less money. LeBron’s decision to opt in doesn’t change his win now calculus unless his camp is pushing the Lakers to agree to a resign with more years but less money this season, and the Lakers refused.

As expected, the Suns are holding onto Nick Richards, league sources tell The Athletic. Richards’ $5 million salary is expected to guarantee today for the 2025-26 season.

Good point. The NBA season is never truly over now. Seems like it lasts all year long. The NFL is the same.

Not much of a free agency with about five teams with some actual capspace and I believe only Brooklyn over $20M. It´s basically become the MLE Agency.
