Andre Miller was kind of underrated. I remember he put a career high 52 on Dallas when he was with Portland in 2010.

I expect OKc wins game 7 and eventually wins the title. If they lose though, the four teams would be as open as I can remember. Just wild stuff.
It will be a great measure of OKc. And a great legacy game for Jokic. Holmgren and Williams are really good. And going through this will only make them better. Right now there are still questions if either can make big buckets late. They will get there chance in game 7

I hate that Aaron Gordon could miss the game or will at least be limited… He was the X-factor of the Nuggets postseason and in a game 7 I‘d love to see best versus best.

Yeah, that sucks. The playoffs are a grind and it is so tough to get through them healthy. I think that is the main reason the mavs have to have a deep team. With two/three older players, they need to watch their minutes in the regular season and withstand some missed games. Obviously if you have a Tatum level injury you are done regardless but you need a way to withstand those 3-4 week injuries.

Hope I'm wrong.

This season is just the second time, multiple 60-win teams were eliminated before the conference finals.

I would expect Gordon finds a shot of some kind and he just says F it I am playing. I really want to see OKC lose more than I want to see DEN lose though either way is fine by me.
I want the finals to be MINN and Indianna just to mess with the leagues head.

This is what amazes me about Mavs fans. PJ Washington and Aaron Gordon are essentially the same player. Player A: 6’8” 235 lbs. 14.7 pts | 4.8 rbs | 3.2 ast Player B: 6’7” 230 lbs. 14.7 pts | 7.8 rbs | 2.3 ast Player A: $34.5M Player B: $14.1M Both elite defenders. PJ’s max extension is ~4/90M ($22M AAV) and we’re trying to trade him because “fit”. Would you trade 29 year old Aaron Gordon for a JAG because of fit? Why are we entertaining the idea of doing so for 26 year old PJ? ![]() • DanSchwartzgan, F Gump, khaled1987, Knutsen, michaeltex, rocky164

If Gordon was on my team and the incoming generational, cornerstone building block had that much positional and role overlap with glaring needs in other areas, absolutely yes. There are some people who are down on PJW (I think they're missing the plot pretty widely), but I think the majority of those considering this are just looking to make the roster make sense, especially in the world of the new, punitive CBA. I'll be THRILLED if PJW is still here past this summer. It's just that they have TONS and TONS of centers and forwards, and they're missing the player some of us (myself included) believe is the most important, by far. The freaking PG. Kyrie is not enough, even when healthy. Let me rephrase that, even a Kyire who had never sustained this injury in the first place wouldn't be nearly enough. Now, even when he's back, I doubt he'll be the same player. They NEED to replace Luka - doesn't have to be another Luka (obviously), but they need an offensive identity, and they don't have one at the moment. Like everyone, I'm hopeful that Flagg can step into those shoes and show signs of filling them more than adequately, and I think he might be more polished than some people seem to caution. But, we haven't seen it yet, and I KNOW AD/Kyrie isn't enough on offense to contend.

Give me a great young player in PJ at a bargain price and I’ll figure out the rest.

Or, if that OLD PG costs YOUNG assets. There's definitely a limit to what I'd be willing to give up PJW FOR, but that doesn't change the fact that his role here WILL be smaller over the next 2-3 seasons. Are we sure he'll even WANT to stay? I'd not be shocked if he's not looking around for more playing time as we type. If you could somehow package 26 year old PJW for a 25 year old guy who FITS better? I think it would be shortsighted NOT to jump on that, particularly if it helped clear a way forward in terms of salary structure. I'll be pretty surprised if they can somehow convince PJW to come off the bench on a contract year and have his head right with it. Now, tell me you were a fly on the wall and you think they were about to try to convince AD he's a 5 (which he is), then a totally different conversation can start up.

we need to fire the GM still if you ask me.
Cooper is a rookie and has proven nothing yet I have every faith in his being able to perform as admirably as he is expected to but you always need to prepare for the worst and you never trade off value just because you assume you have a decent enough replacement. Building the roster with what we have and know will be there for us on day one I say this is what we need to put out there. I would add at least 1 PG that is flexible in their ability to also play SG. Irving __________ Williams Cooper Hardy Naji Klay Max Hardy Cooper PJ Naji AD PJ Kai OMax or Edwards Lively Gafford AD Brown Kai In my opnion you do not resign Exum and Din You trade Powell and Martin for a PG or you trade for picks and draft one if that looks more sensible. If I add in anyone else to the list of guys we trade for an asset it is Naji because he lacks a decent 3 pointer and has decent enough value we may get something decent back. Edwards and Omax are lower cost options to replace him and Martin. I think Omax is making enough progress to justify his being kept but if need be to close a deal he can be included as well and we certainly counted on Edwards enough last year to know what he can do on defense plus he was a 40% 3 point threat but his rights may be of value in trades as well. I hope we can add some second round talent in this draft because the next few years may be without the level of talent this draft has. Some say trade Hardy but if he develops elsewhere that could come back to haunt us. I see his as a long range assassin that has the ability to get hot and those are worth keeping but if a good deal come along yes you move him. There will be players not taken in the draft that we can sign as 2 way contract guys but if we can add a pick or 2 through trade I hope the mavs avail themselves. I pray injuries do not force us to use our 2 way signees but with our luck we need to develop as much talent as possible. AD is an inury waiting to happen so PJ is a needed element at PF. Gafford and Lively may take a while to recover their game more fully. Last years surprise additions Moses Brown and Kai Jones where able to produce scoring and rebounding so as third stringers they can be counted on in emergencies to hold the line. I say we might as well bring them on or if a pick is acquired whereby we can snag a better rookie in this years draft then that is also an option for the management I would advise them to explore. Exum and Din were able to perform when counted on and they did ok but the teams new expectations suggest we take another path. It was fun and it was real but it wasn't real fun because no ring was won.

What about Russel Westbrook or Ben Simmons for a season? I personally would make trades to acquire talent in the draft with 2nd round picks.
Dukes PG is 6'5 has a 40% 3 point shooting ability and he knows how to play with Cooper and can play SG. If someone else falls in the draft we need to make a move to get a guy and make a trade to get a pick. I would bet you Cooper can be a PG as well so I think we need to see that part of his game in summer league. |
