Shams has turned into Captain Obvious, coming late to the party to breathlessly offer his guess on things we ALL already know.

This works in the trade machine.

Mavs get KD.
Suns get Klay, PJW, Gafford, Cody Martin and picks.

Mavs: Kyrie, Christie/Naji, KD, AD, Lively.
Suns: Beal, Booker, Klay, PJW, Gafford.

Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks could’ve parted ways this offseason if he hadn’t gotten hurt, per
@TheAthletic

“Had Lillard remained healthy, and had the Bucks still fallen in the first round, league sources say there would have been discussions about whether Lillard wanted to remain in Milwaukee. The relationship between Antetokounmpo and Lillard is strong, as is the respect level, but the imperfections of their on-court pairing remained in their second season together. And with the group’s collective limitations growing more evident by the month, a conversation was looming about whether Lillard and the Bucks might be better off parting ways.”

LeBron James on if he would play somewhere besides the Lakers next season

"Just continuing to play, I don't know where I'm at. That's what that is. Not coming back to play here. Just playing, period."

LeBron trust me, resign there for 100M 2years contract... We need you.

Let's go Fakers.

To Shams: Thank you. Captain Obvious.

Again, Shams' breathless scoop is not telling the world anything that every NBA observer doesn't ALL already know.

Why? BOS's payroll is set to explode, with some huge extensions kicking in. It's very possible they may also want to re-sign Horford (only making 9.5M). If they only do that, their payroll would be almost $240M, but the worst part for them is that they will be a repeater tax team and their tax on top of that would be another $260M or so. That's a massive check to write, essentially money tossed in the trash.

Not sure if another title changes their willingness to spend (or if falling short this season has an even bigger impact), but it sure seems like they will have to jettison a boatload of salary (and talent). For reference, the Apron 2 line will be at about $208M.
Win another ring would be the perfect end of that group and probably they can trade Brown or Tatum without too much riot in the city.... Or maybe the opposite. I don't know hahaha
Question, how does Boston even reduces salary? I think the most common thinking is they trade porzingis and Holiday. Although with limited teams with cap space available, how can they reduce salary for next year?

Klay + PJ for Holliday + Washington's 2nd + Boston's 2027 1st - top 10 protected

Boston trims long term money by receiving shorter contracts. They can either keep Klay and PJ or trade them, especially as their deals become even more valuable. I think PJ could net a protected 1st at the deadline.

Dallas gets a ballhandler and defender on the same timeline as Kyrie and AD, AND it starts a new Dallas negotiating rule: EVERY trade MUST return draft capital.

Holliday, Kyrie, Naji, AD  Lively

Way too much value given to Boston - if they are in salary cap hell they need to trade good players for nothing and maybe add picks on top of it. The alternative could be stretch waiving someone.

So after saved the Lakers is it time for Boston? OMG
I don't want Zion because he is everything Nico apparently thinks Luka is.
