Perhaps PJ’s balky ankle helps explain his GAWFUL performance in LA…..
Glad we pulled this one out tonight. Need every one we can get these days….

I'm positive that's why. He is still recovering.

Hardy was probably offered to everyone in the league at the deadline as a dump. At 3 yrs 18 million no one is going to take that on how he is playing. Probably my most disappointing mav. He is better than he has shown. His game has not grown though and looks like he is not even enjoying being on the team now.
I just don't understand it with Naji. He is a good shooter. It must be his confidence.

What? Naji good shooter? In which Marvel universe?
He and PJ are too inconsistent from 3, they can't play together in PO... The court will be so small with boths on the court and 2 no shooter bigs.

Don't forget Powell and Martin. It takes all of them.

What do you think the over/under will be on minutes it takes Moses Brown to foul out against Giannis and Lopez?

It is just a shame Omax and Hardy didn't step up and meet this opportunity. Omax is such a great kid and he plays so hard. He is just so far away. Plays with no feel or purpose...just hard. I was hoping we would see some advancement of his basketball iq to match his effort. Just hasn't happened yet. He passes up way too many shots. Makes shots much more difficult then they should be. The threes he decides to let fly, his feet are not set properly and he rushes the shots. He needs to be ready to shoot. He has a nice pump fake, but no one falls for it right now. He really needs to get better going up strong and finishing in contact. Not giving up on him, but it just seems unlikely he is back next year with the coaching staff lack in trust with him.
Hardy is so much more disappointing. There were obvious holes in his game. I liked how the team tried to get him to improve on his weaknesses. It could be the difference in 50 million in career earnings if he can be a passable ball handler and defender. It just hasn't happened. He will still look good when he is making shots. He just hasn't made them since the trade deadline. But I am tired of seeing him entering games and immediatly take tough shots (that miss) and then provides nothing else. I am sure (at least i hope) there is a clear mandate what he needs to do to get more playing time. Shooting a shot a minute, is probably not high on the teams list. Also, in the past he has been one of the happier Mavs. Watching him on the bench now he looks like a zombie. Now, it could be he knows he is out of the rotation or that the team was desperately trying to move him. Still though, he has been so bad for the past few weeks.
At the moment the Hardy extension and the Omax draft pick are not looking like good Nico moves.

If OMax doesn't show improvement soon, I'm afraid he'll be trade fodder. Hardy has already reached that point, IMO. He's a worst chucker than THJ, who has surprisingly fit in with Detroit

I want to talk about Moses Brown. I know its one game, but he's more useful on this roster than Powell. I think he's a decent 3rd string big.
The sad part is we actually have an open roster spot but cant sign anyone. Another blunder by Nico.

Yeah, that Caleb trade is the gift that keeps on giving. Even if they get one of the centers back before the 10 day runs out, he would still have provided value, and if they don't that decision is going to cost them games they can't afford to lose.

At least Moses has size.... You can't teach it.

You can't teach it, but I remember my Dad trying to order it. "Grow up!" he'd say to me. That didn't work either.

And I’d be pretty happy with that. Powell, Hardy, and even OMax look like scrubs so far. It pains me to say that regarding OMax but he just hasn’t looked like an NBA player. Naji is ok, but he cannot shoot and makes mistakes that’d make Lance Stephenson blush. Martin might be a solid dude but he has yet to suit up.
I wish we can keep both Klay and PJ in whatever KD trade but the numbers just don’t work.
