Trade & FA 2024-25:

One of the rumors floated was that Indy would like Reaves. But after watching him last night, I don't think I would trade him. He is really good. Has limitations on defense, but plays hard and he has a great motor. Very good offensively. Can shoot, drive, mid range, floater. Of course this is coming from one game and my opinion might be very different in a couple of weeks.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if Lakers sit out this TDL and just evaluate what they have in this team. Everyone will be expiring in the summer. This team is better than I thought (based on one game), but still imho has a low ceiling.

Reaves is a fine player but to me he should be the first one used to build a team around Luka.  Luka/Reaves and even paired with Lebron in his older age won't stop anyone in the playoffs.

It's what pisses me off the most, building a team around Luka is not easy AND WE DID IT REALLY WELL OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS FOR APPARENTLY NO REASON.  Pelinka has his work cut out for him and to be honest he is not the most competent GM in the world, just the luckiest.  I think they will do well because Luka is Luka but I don't really have faith in Pelinka putting the right team around him based on his track record.  Which sucks, as much as it hurts to watch, I want to see Luka succeed and this move put the Mavs AND Luka further away from a championship for the time being.

Amid a growing belief leaguewide that Kevin Durant actually could be traded this week, sources say nothing has changed in Houston regarding its posture on a major in-season change.

The Rockets, as covered by @TheSteinLine repeatedly this season, want to give their young team a playoff shot. There have been no signals yet to suggest a possible audible at this deadline.

So the rumors were GSW, Mavs, and Rockets. And if they Rockets are bowing out, that means either the Warriors are using the Mavs as leverage, or the Mavs are actually in this.

I don’t believe it though.

I really think the Mavs could have the best offer.  The scary thing is Lively would have to be included in the deal.  If he is not, I think others can beat the offer.   In addition, we would have to give up some really good players.   I am totally out giving up Lively, so that probably means we are not a real threat.

It worries me though if Nico feels like he is cornered what he could offer now or in the offseason.

As crazy as this sounds, I kinda expect KD to be a Mav tomorrow. Nico has lost his shit and it's the ultimate all in move.

Nico is a mad man and must be stopped. This is scary.

Its crazy because a week ago, i would have said he's one of the top executives in the league. what flipped to do the dark side all of a sudden.

I'll be honest. I'd have zero interest in watching an all-mercenary team with KD, Kyrie and AD, especially if the cost includes Lively and PJ. I like Kyrie but I don't really have an emotional investment in him winning a trophy. None of them have any investment in Dallas.

And despite going through plenty of ups and downs together, it's hard to get super pumped about finally seeing Dwight Powell win a Championship.

We’re not getting ad - nearly impossible. Would have zero depth.

Reports suggest that Kevin Durant has serious reservations about a potential return to the Warriors if he were to be traded there, per @TheSteinLine

“…his final season as a Warrior in 2018-19 was of course marked by a devastating Achilles injury ... as well as a growing belief that he wanted a dramatic change of scenery (which he found in Brooklyn) and no longer wanted to play alongside Draymond Green.”

As much as I like Lively, I am never against trading injury prone players. https://www.foxsports.com/nba/dereck-liv...r-injuries

People hate me on the Rangers forum also (lol jk) because I say the same thing about Josh Jung.

You have a point. But lively on the court is a transformative player. And he can’t even drink yet.

It’d be silly to give up on him for a 36 year old KD

Stein] There is a sense that Durant does not want to be traded at all this week. It is believed that he has some serious reservations about a second Warriors stint.

He unforgettably won two championships during that first three-season stint, but his final season as a Warrior in 2018-19 was of course marked by a devastating Achilles injury ... as well as a growing belief that he wanted a dramatic change of scenery (which he found in Brooklyn) and no longer wanted to play alongside Draymond Green.

Sources say there is a possibility, mind you, that Green could be a part of any multi-team trade construction that brings Durant back to Golden State ... despite the fact that Green has long been regarded as all but off-limits in trade talks due to his very close relationship with Face of the Franchise Stephen Curry.

One source briefed on the trade talks suggested the Warriors might have the gumption to trade for Durant anyway.

“Doesn’t want to be traded this week”

In other words, KD is letting the Suns know this is the make or break it year. And he’s out of there in 2 months if things don’t go well

The Warriors are pursuing Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler, but if they fail to land either Nikola Vucevic is a strong likelihood, per @ShamsCharania

Golden State has put negotiations with the Bulls on pause until they figure out a resolution with the two best players available.

Kevin Durant has no desire for a reunion with the Golden State Warriors, @ShamsCharania
reported just now on NBA Today. Warriors have been pursuing a trade to find a star to pair with Steph Curry.

This is a very interesting development. So of the teams that called, only Dallas remains as a suitor.

Again can’t happen till the summer pretty much. But very interesting

Nico called him and told him to chill in Phoenix until the summer.

Sam Amick said that Nico is trying to reunite the Nike guys. Posted a picture of Kobe, KD, Lebron, Kyrie, and AD.

Tre Jones REALLY interests me. Great creator and defender. Can’t really score but I think he’d be a great buy low target.
