Per Stein and Fischer…

“There was no tangible expectation percolating in Dallas, as of Tuesday night, to suggest that the Mavericks were a true factor in the Durant chase.”

FIFY, for some perspective.

I think they’re done until the Summer.

Brian Windhorst says the Suns are seriously entertaining Kevin Durant trade offers, and Devin Booker is the only player guaranteed to remain on the team

If true the Caleb trade makes even less sense. This team needs more offensive creation.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks have had trade talks centered around De’Andre Hunter and Caris LeVert, per @ChrisFedor

“Multiple sources tell http://cleveland.com that the Cavaliers have expressed interest in Hawks sixth man De’Andre Hunter. Those talks with Atlanta, sources say, are centered on free-agent-to-be Caris LeVert — a fixture of Cleveland’s every-night rotation and a Kenny Atkinson favorite, going back to their days together with the Brooklyn Nets.”

All this reporting into is fun. Thanks SH and all. This deserves more than a like.

Bucks trading Khris Middleton to Wizards for Kyle Kuzma. Patrick Baldwin is also going to the Bucks, A J Johnson going to the Wiz. Don't know if any picks are involved.

Does Josh Giddey make sense here since he's a big PG? A big guard next to Kyrie seems really important now. Then hopefully get Lonzo on a buyout to give us 2 big PGs.

Yeah, I don't know about the fit for the Bucks. They got younger though.

The Sixers are actively working on a KJ Martin trade, league source confirms. Potential deal “pending” I’m told.

@PHLY_Sixers ace @KyleNeubeck had the first report below.

He's going to Detroit along with 2 2nd rd picks according to Mark Stein.

Seems like a pure salary-cutting move by the Sixers, but to what end?

Do they have a follow-up trade in the wings that’s only possible with that slot?

Sixers got under the tax line with this trade. Saved 30 mil on salaries and taxes and will receive around 13 mil non tax paying teams get from tax payers in the summer.

Great move by Detroit, imho. They got somehow interesting still young player and 2 SRP for nothing.

Assuming no more moves by the Mavs what are possible free agents or trades that could take place to improve the roster?

That's the smart play.

When you make a push to get older/more experienced so that your young, franchise player can "win now," you don't course correct to the older guys' timeline when it doesn't work. You course correct to your young, franchise player's timeline.

I can't believe Harrison and Dumont are dumber than the Suns, I really can't.

Nah, how many times does Harrison have to tell us that "defense wins championships?"

They certainly needed more defense last night.

No one could slow down Maxey or Embiid.

Missing your 3 best defenders (PJ, AD, Lively) can cause your defense to look lackluster.

Sounds like either Gafford or Lively will be traded in the offseason. Can't trade now since Lively is injured and out for a significant period. This will also give them time to let AD play the 4 and see how it works out. Not great news for the rest of this season. But we could theoretically have the ammo of Lively (or Gafford) + 3 first rd picks to trade for another star this offseason.

Still hoping for a smaller trade for another offensive creator before the deadline. But it's tough to come up with enough salary matching with guys like Powell, Exum, Hardy.
