The Kings are positioning themselves via a multi-team deal to acquire two impact players if they depart from De’Aaron Fox. They may settle with one + picks. But the current angle is two win-now players, per source.
lololol I hope one of them is Butler.

Kings are really about to break Fox into 2 mediocre players and foregoing picks despite the fact they are going to rebuild after the trade.
Crazy FO work.

Sounds like this deal will also include an eastern conference team. Also, Stephon Castle remains in SA.

Make no mistake about it, the Kings are doing whatever they can to re-tool and possibly improve if they move on from Fox. I’m hearing some BIG swings.

I predict something like...
Beal to Bulls
Lavine + Burks to Kings
Fox + Monk to Spurs
Butler to Suns
Vassell + Barnes to Heat
Plus a dozen picks from the Spurs and Suns for the Bulls. Then Beal says no.

Dejounte Murray suffering a torn Achilles and missing the rest of the season is the latest blow in a brutal season of injuries for the New Orleans Pelicans. With the third-worst record, they’ll try to make a trade to get below the luxury tax threshold by the deadline, sources say

They might make a trade, but I doubt it involves Trey Murphy or Herb Jones. Two of the best pair of wings on any team. What's such a shame is, they've been so injured as a team the last few years, we never got to see the full potential of them. I remember early last year, they had the best record in the West before the injuries set in.

They may have worse luck than DAL.
This board GREATLY undervalues Gafford. It's crazy. We haven't had a physically dominant C since Chandler. It seems that we're all trying to acquire a player like Gafford, but once we have him we're looking to trade. Real talk, Gafford's performance this year makes me more inclined to trade Lively for a badass SF like Murphy or Jones.
Which would you rather? Murphy's poison pill probably rules him out.
Jones/Missi
for
Lively/Kleber
I don't know what the perception of Lively is with the rest of the league...
Thoughts?

I like Gafford. He plays with an edge, and he's one of the best rim protectors in the league. Plus, he leads the league in FG%. I was taken aback by posts suggesting they trade him. Lively may have more of an upside as he may be a little more athletic, better rebounder, and maybe shoot better from mid- range and beyond, and he has a penchant it seems to being hurt a lot. But Gaff is a dawg, and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

The Pelicans have a cost-cutting trade agreed upon with the Pistons to dip below the tax if they can’t find a deal for Brandon Ingram by Thursday, per
@Gambo987
New Orleans is currently $1.4 million over the luxury tax.

I was with you up until you said you’d trade Lively. Sure he’s injury prone, but when he’s on the court he’s an even more transformative defender than Gafford. He has the ability to defend the rim AND perimeter in a 7ft body. That’s rare as hell.
No way am I giving up Lively.

New Orleans is currently $1.4 million over the luxury tax. I believe Detroit is the only or one of the few teams below the cap. So it could be as simple as moving a guy like Thies for a few seconds or a high second.

Are we a better team with...
Jones/Missi
or
Lively/Maxi
???
Luka, Din, Exum
Kyrie, Grimes, Hardy
Jones, Klay
PJ, Marshall. Omax
Gafford, Missi
A starting lineup of Luka, Kyrie, Jones, PJ, and Gafford is extraordinarily well balanced.

The Raptors are attempting to help facilitate a Jimmy Butler trade between the Warriors and Heat in order to acquire Andrew Wiggins, per @TheSteinLine

Bruce Brown’s $23 million expiring contract would be going to Miami in this potential framework.

It’s true. Bye Luka. The Mavs got fleeced. Jason Kidd must be behind this. No longer a fan.
