@GrantAfseth
Jason Kidd says Naji Marshall (illness) will play against the New Orleans Pelicans on a 15-minute restriction.

Danté Exum (right wrist surgery) was ruled out.

Kidd didn't rule out Exum "maybe" playing on this five-game road trip.

Small dose and not always pretty but I sort off like the hustle, defense lineup with Omax, Edwards and Grimes.

Zion looks in pretty good shape too.

Mavs went small when Gafford was out. Gafford seems out of it in first quarter. Some butter finger hands.

Well he may have butter finger hands tonight but he just had two fabulous blocks at the rim

Pj does so many things well. Ball security isn’t one of them. 4 pretty bad turnovers with 6 m8nutes left in the sec9nd quarter.

With so many players out and the ones left playing positions they don’t normally play, players are getting the ball in awkward positions that they aren’t used to. That’s also why the spacing has been so bad on offense. Players are running to the wrong spots on the floor because they’re at positions they don’t normally play.

Honestly, it’s going to look like this until they are healthy for long enough to get used to playing together, which has literally not happened all year.

Gafford is in the midst of a pretty great stretch of play. He’ll never be a good defender, as far as what that means today, but his rim protection, offensive rebounding and offensive force have all been very helpful lately.

Good to see Dinwiddie advance the ball to O-Max in that situation. I thought there were several good cuts he made in the first quarter that were ignored.

The Mavs need to pick up their effort in transition defense if they want to win this one.

Turnovers were a problem in the first half.

Last 8 minutes of the 2nd quarter saw the Mavs get outscored 24-14 with SIX turnovers during that span. Inexcusable. Add in Dinwiddie deciding to shoot a 45 foot 3 when the team is hemorrhaging on offense which actually gave the Pelicans a 2-1 and this team just practically gave up on the offensive end in the 2nd quarter.

Just don't understand how braindead they can be. Dinwiddie especially when he's been okay up until the last 5 minutes of the 2nd when he became unplayable almost.

Got to get Klay more looks as he's lethal right now. Gafford must've rolled 5 sticks of butter on his hand this game and he hopefully will wipe them off and wake up. Jaden "butterfingers" Hardy too.

Gafford thankfully cleaned his hands and can catch a ball again. Great defensive pressure by him.

Really bad finish at half by Mavs. Turnovers and some bad plays by Kyrie.

Dinwiddie refusing to look at Klay in the corner for a wide open 3 and instead going 1 on 4 for a contested prayer should be a benchable offense.

Love seeing O-Max slowly get more and more confident and aggressive.
