He has been better than I expected since the Halliburton trade, but I've always been in the camp that Fox is generally disappointing and probably should've been dealt instead of Halliburton. Personally, I think I'd be in the "finally, this has been a dead end for a while" camp of Kings fans, but I haven't followed them super closely lately.

Kyrie and Naji for Fox - who says no, Mavs or Kings?

As it stands, SAC won that trade. Sabonis is a rare asset, worth more than Halliburton and Fox. I guess you could argue that they should have traded Fox instead of Halliburton, but that's academic. IMO Fox is way too inconsistent and Halliburton has taken a step back this year.

That sounds like a Donovan Mitchell situation. Sell early before it gets messy.
K. Johnson + S. Castle for Fox works on the trade machine.
Throw in the Hawks and Spurs 1sts this year, could probably add a condition with the Bulls pick that is top 10 protected to convert. Problem is with this trade you expect the Spurs to play themselves out of the lottery devaluing the pick and going forward those Spurs picks are not getting better. At the same time Kings might be the team falling into the lottery.

I think the Mavs pass given that Kyrie is still better than Fox and Fox hasn't shown he can work off ball at all.
Kyrie is more of a SG with PG properties. Fox is a PG through and through that needs the ball.

KillerLeft says no.
I have one lifetime veto, gifted to me by Don Carter, the original owner. I really thought I'd have to use it last year on Kuzma, but he saved me by refusing to come.

Wow, that is a shocker. There will be many suitors. Lets move him to the east. Supposedly he has a place he wants to go to. Needs to be SA or Houston. SA more likely imo.
I think the Spurs are going to be all over that dang.

Wembenyama is the ONE pairing with Fox I could see having championship mobility. That's kind of scary, because it would turn Fox completely loose on driving lanes.

JUST IN: The Sacramento Kings are expected to open up talks to potentially deal All-Star De'Aaron Fox ahead of Feb. 6 trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. There will be plenty of suitors, but it's believed that Fox has a target destination in mind ahead of 2026 free agency.

The Nets, per sources, are among the teams that view De’Aaron Fox as a trade target and have been monitoring the Fox situation in SAC. ESPN reports Kings are expected to listen to offers ahead of trade deadline but Fox has preferred destination. He is under contract through

Sources: Kings star De’Aaron Fox is zeroed in on landing spot as franchise looks to possibly move him. Interested teams will likely be discouraged from trading for him being he’s set to become UFA in 2026. Fox’s unwillingness to sign extension has positioned the situation here.

According to multiple sources, if De'Aaron Fox leaves the Kings via trade, his preferred landing spot is the San Antonio Spurs. It could be an interesting couple of days in Sacramento.

I am afraid so. I think other teams could put together attractive offers: Magic, Nets, etc.
The wording saying Fox has an ideal location in his mind may limit some of those offers though.
Also, it must be nice being OKC and anyone that comes onto the market they can say "sure, lets do it" or "nah, we good"

Heat are now at least considering taking back money past 25-26
as long as it isn't an outrageous contract.

So, it would take a lot of their draft capital. But they would retain some. Is Wemby, Fox, Vassell, and Castle a good enough core to build a champion?

spurs also have a future pick swap with SAC that they got in the trade when Derozan went to SAC, and Barnes went to SA. Somehow the Bulls got a second or something. LOL
