Game 46: Boston Celtics (31-14) vs. Dallas Mavericks (24-21) | 4:30pm CST

But he is so one dimensional at this point in his career that he just cannot be played reliably against good teams. He stepped up great vs. OKC. He is currently sucking the life out of the team against Boston. He's not just bad on offense, he's actively hurting the team by having the ball. Whether he refuse wide open 3s, dribble it out of bounds, missed layups, getting blocked. He's reached Ben Simmons level on that end of the court.

He plays scared. Needs to go.

Is it scared? Or just lack of ability?

I don't think Maxi looks "afraid" to shoot. He just doesn't have the ability anymore. He's developed an awful hitch. He is slow to rise up and get it off. And he's 33 now coming off of a host of injuries. He just isn't the same Maxi anymore.

I still want him just because he can still defend at a high level, but he's not the same guy anymore and needs to be relegated to the 3rd string like Powell.

Dinwiddie about to foul out of this game because he just is playing like a neanderthal.

Hardy going 1 on 5 instead of finding an open shooter will always make me mad.

Grimes coming online but it feels like too little too late.

Mavs getting outhustled, outworked, out-everythinged.

Another unfortunate reality, Maxi has been playing more minutes than he needs to which will lead to another injury soon.

Kidd seems like he is just unable to gameplan against Boston.

Yeah, I hold Kidd personally responsible for all those missed layups.

I also hold the training staff responsible for Maxi stepping on that guy’s foot

No you misunderstand me. I get this team is hampered and a chance for a win tonight was super unlikely. But that doesn't take away that MULTIPLE times I've seen many players just forget who they are guarding, not closing out, not staying up on the pick and roll when a shooter is present. These are coaching things!

Offensively, the shots they are generating are HARD. No wide open looks. No real rhythm or plan on where to put the ball each time down. Just iso's and dribble hand offs.

Again these are coaching things. And it's fine if you have Luka Doncic, because he covers ALL of these things with his sheer brilliance. But Kidd hasn't adjusted his system at all. It's hard to watch

Like why does PJ Washington think a dribble pull up mid range contested jumper is an okay look.
