Game 46: Boston Celtics (31-14) vs. Dallas Mavericks (24-21) | 4:30pm CST
#21
2nd quarter difference is solely the 3pt game. Boston just chucking them. Dallas isn't even attempting them. We need a stretch 5 since Maxi just can't be useful on that end anymore.

We need 3pt shooting period.

Seems like the defensive gameplan just totally fell apart after 1 quarter.

Kidd refuses to generate open looks with his sets. He seems hellbent this entire year using the centers as passers and just doing dribble hand offs. Every other coach has figured out a way to generate an open 3.

Mavs have fucking Klay Thompson and we can't find a way to get him 6 open 3s a game. Meanwhile 1 year ago Kidd managed to get THJ as many threes as he wanted.

Gafford sinking to the paint and just letting every 3pt shooter for the Celtics spot up is making my blood boil. He's looking for the weakside block I get it, but Jrue Holiday isn't a guy you can leave

Overall a horrid 2nd quarter, but the last 30 seconds was great. Dinwiddie great drive. Klay clamped Brown. Gafford and-1.

Kidd has to find a way to free up his shooters this break. The shots these sets are generating are impossible. Klay only has 2 shot attempts for the entire game which is just unacceptable

Just saw the stat that Dallas had 8 turnovers, Boston 0.

Not too bad to only be down 10, really.

Gafford is hustling at least. If he misses a switch, he makes up for it with his offensive rebounds and rim runs down the lane. C's have nobody to matchup with him. He's playing great to me.

I don't think Gafford is playing bad. But he's selling out the team if he's consistently leaving Boston (the team with the best 3pt shooters in the game) open.

3 wide open 3s to start the quarter. Great stuff by Kidd. And they've converted. MORE OF THAT

How many unforced errors does this team need.

I will always defend Maxi as a versatile defensive player and a winning player.

But he is so one dimensional at this point in his career that he just cannot be played reliably against good teams. He stepped up great vs. OKC. He is currently sucking the life out of the team against Boston. He's not just bad on offense, he's actively hurting the team by having the ball. Whether he refuse wide open 3s, dribble it out of bounds, missed layups, getting blocked. He's reached Ben Simmons level on that end of the court.
