AROUND the NBA:
I heard JJ Redick's house burned down to the ground in those wildfires. They postponed the Hornets /Lakers game tonight, and the Rams/Vikings playoff game Mon night is being moved to Phoenix. Prayers go out to all involved.

Zion Williamson was late for Thursday's team flight to Philadelphia, leading the Pelicans to suspend him for tonight's game against the 76ers, sources said.

That is the kind of red flag, that concerns me a lot more than his injury history with the DNPelicans. There is clearly something wrong in that franchise´s medical/physical departments and maybe even the facilities, but this just tells me does not have the desire to be great. So I´m officially out on him.

That the Pelicans don´t even give a f*** anymore about his trade value to hide it or his agent leaked it intentionally to sabotage/lower his trade value: either way I´m now out.

Did any of you see Houston sitting as the 2 seed in the West at almost the halfway mark of the season? I surely didn't, especially being a young team. I knew Udoka was going to change the culture of the team, but not this soon. They still need more consistent 3 pt shooting, but they're way ahead of schedule, but is it sustainable?

I think it's sustainable in the regular season, sure.

I think they'll be a pretty easy out for an experienced team in a 7-game serious though. Still, good season for them and they'll only get scarier.

27 pts in 27 min, +17? Yeah, I'd say so.

Very interesting video: "I trained like Lebron for a week". A small glimpse at some of the methodology Lebron uses to defy age, and a feel for the daily life commitment he gives to the regimen.

I think Brooks and FVV really lead the locker room.  Even though Brooks is a total d0uche, I think he's their vocal leader.

Bucks are 0-8 vs the East's top 3 teams.

The Thunder now have the best point differential in NBA history as of now.

Kings have won 7 straight games, to go to 20-19. Maybe Mike Brown was the problem.

I think they'll win it all this year and with their talent level, age and a million draft picks, they should have a chance at many titles. That's not great news for the Mavs, but OKC is loaded. I'm not saying that the Mavs can't find a way to win a 7 game series against them, but it will certainly be a tall task.

I have always thought Brown is a terrible coach.  Seems to be better as a defensive specialist assistant.

I really don't see why a team didn't take a flyer on him. He played well I thought when he was with the Nets.
The same for Markelle Fultz.

They are a problem. Putting up these kind of numbers without a single game of Hartenstein and Holmgren together is wild… Still happy they gifted us Lively and didn’t trade for PJ, though.

Best chance to beat them in the next years is if Holmgren turns into an often-injured Zion 2.0 - which I don’t hope, of course.

I can't really speak to the Markelle Fultz thing, but all it takes is to watch a couple of DSJ interviews to see why teams don't want him. He's a world class 'tard.

Oh really?  I haven't seen him in any recently - bad as in just a jerk or bad as in not knowing basketball (or both)?
