I hate games that aren't on MavsTV. The commentators are all talking about how great the thunder are.

How bad ass is Naji Marshall, btw??? I was worried about him being rusty, but he’s the only one who looks ready for this level of competition.

It IS on KFAA, though. Not sure about Mavstv, but the local broadcast is happening. I would’ve actually prefer to watch the TNT feed, but the local one is like a full minute ahead of it.

So hard to keep up typing in real time but Omax shut J-Will on another drive going left. He kicked to the corner where Dinwiddie had fallen asleep and they got a 3 off of it. Impressive stuff. It’s like having another PJ out there with his quick change of direction and wingspan.

Just far too many turnovers thus far. And most aren't even because of OKC's swarming defense. Just dumb full court passes or like the Grimes one where he's on the floor and Kyrie doesn't meet him.

The fact the Mavs are within 3 with Luka shooting terribly and turning it over non-stop should be the message heading into the 2nd half. If I was Kidd, I'd start putting Luka in the post. Every time just have Caruso or Dort try and stop him down there. I'd keep trying to find corner 3pt shooters too if OKC wants t o keep doubling.

Defensively just have to secure the rebound and truthfully can't have Gafford out there. He's giving up way too many open 3s. It's games like this where we're missing PJ and Maxi as our small ball 5s.

What is promising is that Kidd must've read the board and he copied my lineup of Luka/Kyrie/Grimes/Klay/Lively. And it looked really good. ALSO OMAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Inside the NBA has done nothing but praise the Thunder. "How good is the Thunder??? How about SGA???" "BTW Luka only has 2 points!"

It blows my mind how bad the NBA is at marketing their stars. They don't know how to give equal coverage. They just know how to tear one down to prop one up.

Yeah, this isn’t a Gafford game…unless they can find a way to pound it inside on offense. So far, that hasn’t happened, so it’s been more “defensive negative” Gafford than “offensive positive.”

And honestly, they haven't really made it a priority to find our centers. Lively and Gafford are open down there. But I'll give credit to OKC for making it difficult for Kyrie and Dinwiddie to find that pass. Luka has done it a couple of times.

That stretch with OKC playing small ball with Gafford on the fooor for us was really rough defensively. Tough night to be missing both PJ AND Maxi. I think we see more Omax in the second half.

Longer, more athletic, more aggressive doubles and traps than Luka or Kyrie have seen in a while. Hopefully they’re going over adjustments right now.

Oh really? Why wouldn't they put it on MavsTV?! I don't have the antenna but I might have to get it now to avoid these commentators. I much prefer my homer commentators

Also Grimes has to get going. He's disappeared from the offense a bit since Toronto. He has to find a way to get involved if OKC is going to keep doubling.

I’m in Northwest Ft Worth, almost as far from the feed as you can get, and I’ve been happy with my antenna. Way cheaper than Mavs TV, and I get like 70 channels that way.

OKC clearly trying out new stuff like the Boston 3pt offense to counter the Mavs approach of "Live and win by the SGA two". They are also very aggressive on Lively, who has had a few ball security issues. No way he only had one TO in the 1st half. They also crashing the offensive board hard, which I think calls for some Dennis Rodman/Karl Malone flying elbow blockouts. They need to send a message to Dort, Wallace, Williams, Caruso, Hartenstein that they´ll lose a few teeth, if they are trying to steal the Mavs defensive rebounds.

Good news: we play like crap and only down three.

Agree on the last sentence, for sure.

I don’t think they’ve been more aggressive on lively than they have been on anyone else, it’s just a lively is noticeably less ready for it than most of the others. I think they are being aggressive with their ball pressure to keep Dallas from playing at a faster pace. Hopefully there has been an adjustment made at halftime

You can get a digital subscription from the Mavs website here:

https://www.nba.com/watch/league-pass-stream/mavericks

It operates essentially the exact same way as League Pass and you just need to use the NBA app/website to watch games anytime. It also functions as a DVR because you can re-watch any non-national game instantly.

Starting Gafford this half so that Lively matches up with the small ball, I think. Not a bad thought.
