Boston just steamrolling NY in the first half so far. Something is going on with Mikel Bridges, horrible looking shot.
Big picture: I am very skeptical about the idea that NY will be able to get away with Towns playing Center. They look really soft on the boards and athletically. Also I just saw a KAT photoshop where his face slowly morphed into Bargnani lol.

I actually like the construction of NY's roster quite a bit, but nothing would make me happier than the love fest being heaped on the Knicks blowing up in the media's faces and that team imploding. I don't know why - maybe it's just the Brunson thing, maybe it's the East Coast bias - but I like that team less with each passing season.

I hate the celtics. Looks like another rough year for me. Jeez but was that impressive for game 1.
Gobert has several shortcomings but something appears clear is when he is out, teams should go right to the rim. No presence at the rim when Gobert is out.

29 made threes for the Celtics is just stupid unbeatable. No one can win against that kind of shooting.
Lakers vs. Minny is interesting so far. Minny's defense looks pretty bad.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert has reached a three-year, $110 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. T’Wolves and Gobert’s agent, Bouna Ndiaye, negotiated the new deal locking in the league-record four-time Defensive Player of the Year winner in Minnesota.

Minny hanging around vs. the Lakers.
To me DiVencenzo is probably going to be their 2nd most important player.

Randle is obviously an offensive downgrade from KAT, but the real hit is the lack of spacing. I think there is going to be less room for Ant to operate in. Part of this might be due to some bias I have against Randle. I feel like guys that don't space the floor well and can't protect the rim are difficult to fit on a starting lineup. ![]() • KillerLeft, MarkAguirreWrathofGod, michaeltex, Scott41theMavs

I'm in the same place between Randle's post plays, Ant's drives and Gobert's basket proximity, it's going to get crowded. I think MIN made the Towns trade for cap management, but I feel they gave up a lot to make that decision. I'm not a particular KAT fan, but he looked comfortable playing the PF position. Now MIN has a traffic jam and NYK has a C that would prefer to be a PF. IMO.

Randle was getting destroyed by SVG on the broadcast for poor effort the entire game. Barely boxed out and AD was getting rebound after rebound.
If that's the type of effort Randle is going to play with, Minny is cooked.

Duh that the guy with the best +/-, 50% shooting, 2nd most points, 2nd most rebounds and most assists was responsible for the loss. Damn I wish I could get paid for being a blabbering parrot. AD played C. There is a reason SVG hasn´t coached a serious franchise since 2012 and last coached in 2021, where he was fired after one season. Surely it was not Conley with his -22, more turnovers than assists and 1-7 shooting that was mainly responsible. Reaves and Russell a combined +27.

The NBA is likely to commence an investigation into the Philadelphia 76ers surrounding the player participation of All-NBA center Joel Embiid, sources told ESPN. More to come on NBA Today on ESPN right now.
