Honestly I see where you're coming from but I think there could be an argument had over who's the better player between Brunson and Robinson.
I think Robinson would've been an incredible fit here, but Brunson has definitely been a great fit. 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other if you ask me.

Rumors suggest they also don't have assets Basically the best asset we had was the ability to take bad salary. This is now further reduced as WCS ate part of the TE
I´m sure they´ll have done the evaluation of players between 9.6 and 11.8. If they felt there was a potential trade scenario for a player they liked, they would have held off on this deal. This is the Mavs telling the Wolves to howl at the moon.
I like the potential of the move. WCS is young. He´s a legit center, that could cover for Porzingis. Certainly makes a lot more sense, roster construction-wise, than Boban.

The Vice video could easily get buried. It's a must watch I think.
"Anytime you're doing something that nobody say you can do, that's a mental breakthrough.
Games when you have like a 20 point game, and follow it up with like 10 rebounds and like four blocks and like three steals? That's a breakthrough."

Either way Brunson has been the 2nd best player we've drafted since....either Crowder or Harris
I'll take it

Nope. This is Minny telling us they are not giving us RoCo for our assets even if we take Dieng.

In the short term, you might be able to argue Brunson and that's coming from someone who wants him off the team (partial due to personality, partial due to wanting to maximize his trade value) but in the long run, athleticism is going to limit Bruonson's ceiling to a good backup while Robinson could be a good starter.

Why do you think the Mavs don't have assets? Even if they don't want to trade Jackson or Wright or Brunson, all of which are talented players on reasonable deals they still have a 9 million TE and Lee contract + the GSW pick. It's too bad Ariza already got moved, that's one less option out there. RoCo is the dream, Iguodala still seems like a very good possibility. Marcus Morris might be available. I would also be pretty excited if we got him.
Crowder is another guy that might be had for a pick.

I'd love it if it happened soon but I feel like we will probably have to wait closer to the deadline.

Morris would be beyond great.

He'll murder a bag of chips after going a few rounds with the devil's lettuce.
I'm actually QUITE pumped about this....he's about what we need. Won't shoot a three to save his life, but we'll take it no worries.
I LOVE this Brad Townsend tweet...
If I've connected the dots correctly, the Mavericks' net from trading the No. 37 pick of last year's draft is Willie Cauley-Stein and Portland's 2021 second-round pick.
Way to go...Donnie.

Wish it were Portland's second round pick this year.
Do we think WCS starts?

My guess is that yes he starts, that he will be slotted exactly into DP's role, at least initially. But then? Who knows.

Wouldn't surprise me but I'd rather just go 5-out with Curry starting like last night
Then give WCS those Justin Jackson bench minutes
