Trade & FA 2024-25:

What about fellow Slovenian Cancar who united his knee before the season started.

Klay is the starter.
It will be a battle to see who gets re-signed next year. If Grimes is as good as everyone is saying then he will be PAID. But then there is still Exum, who right now is the only other traditional PG on the roster so he might make a big jump in year 2 with the team. Then you have Hardy, who they probably want to keep too.
Nico is preparing for another big move imho, with all the exceptions and fringe players they have, hardy may be used as sweetener imho.

There is no chance Klay agreed to come here without the guaranty of being a starter, and I don't blame him.

Jaden is basically the only other guy who can create his own shot off the bench.

I think that would be fun for Luka. DEN just declined his TO and he's coming off a lost season due to an ACL tear last August. Probably would come cheap, but I don't know if he's worth even the vet min or if there is any role for him in DAL.

I don't see any more big moves. I'm wondering who or what they send back to GS.

It is a shame that Charlotte waived Seth Curry on the 28th
IF Dallas could have dove-tailed a Powell for Curry swap into the Green deal (and helped Charlotte pay for the S/W) that contract would look a lot nicer to pair with Maxi to make a subsequent move

Im so high on Grimes. I truly think in 3 years from now after we've gone back to back to back, and Klay retires. Grimes will be taking the mantle. People will be saying "Holy shit the Mavs are going from Klay Thompson to Quenten Grimes? That is just so unfair"

I agree. I think Grimes is that good. With how skilled he already is being on this team and learning that kid is going to be a stud.

Could have an entire team made up of Mavericks re-treads. Man, that's just sad.

Man if I were the Jazz, I would absolutely love the idea of shorting Golden State. Steph turns 37 next year. They've just paid a bazillion dollars in luxury taxes. Get Kuminga in the deal and get a bunch of their picks. Then just sit back and watch them age out of relevance.

I don't think they get rid of Kuminga. They love that kid.

Now...

Lively

Between these top three players, how many playoff games is that? How many all-star games?

Without giving it much thought, the current roster is likely the most talented Mavs team ever assembled, and Lively will almost certainly be an all-star himself. It's probably a younger team than the team that won it in 2011. The rotation looks stronger than it ever has, and the salary hit is manageable by most of today's measurements. On top of that, the Front Office is now a proven commodity.

Naturally, any team could catch the injury bug, and getting to the finals certainly not a given in this conference. OKC will even be the favorite in the West I suspect. But isn't nice to be a Mavs fan when the roster looks like this?

I mean Damn!

This team is considerably younger than the 2011 team. I seriously am starting to develop a man crush on Nico.

Word is that they aren’t taking any salary back. So it’s got to be a pick or picks.
What about Ayo Dosunmu?

Makes $7 million. It would be Ayo for Powell, SRP and Hardy. Ajinca would be signed to a SRP contract.

It would give us a 3rd guard that’s a good defender and shooter. Seems like the type of player that would fit with the current group

Or cash.

Woj already indicated that Dallas is offering one of the 2nds they got from Charlotte for Green.

Seems like the best option is that GS says no to Dallas’ offer, and Klay signs for the MLE.
Does a Maxi + AJ Lawson + 2 2nds for DFS make sense for us?
