I haven’t seen a single report DJJ intends to sign the MLE with the Mavericks.

Is here a reason to wait until 5pm tomorrow to announce that?

I actually think it makes sense.  Offense wasn’t their problem.  Their 23rd ranked D was the issue.  He’s a multi-positional defender who can take pressure off of James when they play together or replace his D when Lebron is off.  JJ doesn’t buy the groceries.

Also if I were the agent being able to get Lebron to take a discount for my new guy is a pretty compelling argument to the next player I might want to want to flip to the dark side.  Finally, is it a little worrisome to anyone else that nothing has leaked?  I get that there might be a strategic advantage to not making an announcement.  You know who can’t leak anything about signing DJJ?  Everyone but us.

Man, this kinda reminds me of when you called Brunson leaving before most of the board even accepted it as a possibility.

Yeah maybe it's risky but I don't see any reason to automatically throw out a full MLE at him 
Hopefully that's closer to 10 mil the first year 
And his agent would be smart to try to get a little more

Oh, I thought you meant "insiders" more specifically. That NBAinsder guy basically said DJJ to Dallas was a done deal, but he also said George to GS was. 

I'm not worried about this at all, for the record. Like not even a little. 

I think we're going to find out that Harrison does exactly what he said he'd do, and Jones will come right back to play with the team who gave him a big role, finally. 

I might feel differently if I thought some team like Orlando was gong to offer him MORE than the MLE, but any team interest we hear about him as an MLE target is just a way to get the FULL, $12.9 million from Dallas, I bet.

For me it's the combo of agent change and no word leaking that Mavs and DJJ have agreed on a contract. That just seems odd for something that should already be a done deal.

I hope it's nothing, but I'm not 100% sure it's nothing which is less confident than I was earlier.

Powell to Brooklyn for DFS into the Hardaway trade, and Green to Portland for Thybulle. This might require another move (Kleber) to stay under the Apron, but if you could go from NTMLE (12+) to TPMLE (5+) we might still avoid the Hard Cap.

Yes, this is "tongue in cheek", but honestly think about it:: if you could have 80's and 90's Jack on the sideline, and ALL the swagger and appeal that he brought, would you actually call it tooooootally crazy??

Ok, yeah, it's crazy, but looking cool has it's draw in multiple ways.

I think either Klay Thompson is a Laker, or he's using this Laker stuff to con way too much money out of Dallas. I'm pretty scared, but I think it's the former, which is probably for the best.

I think DJJ will be a Maverick.

I think they have been shopping Green pretty hard, which leads me to believe Jones is a probability.

No idea why it hasn't leaked, but I'm not going to assume the worst.

I think at this point assets that can be used at the TDL is better than watching exceptions and powder evaporate. Thybulle is an asset and relatively affordable as opposed to Grant and what Klay might demand.
Nico with ammo is a beautiful thing to watch. Nico with his hands in his pockets is still better than Cuban deserved to end his tenure. So give the man pieces to deal

I've checked in on countless information streams, including several Portland-centric ones, and 100% of what's being said out there is that Dallas is interested in Grant. Thybulle hasn't been mentioned, not once, by anyone. And, he's not one of the guys the Portland dudes are expecting to get traded in general, not just with Dallas.
