Brad Stevens speaks on how out of control NIL has become and how it really has affected the draft.
Well at least that means we won´t draft LeBummy.

Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. was reportedly frustrated with his “role and future” in Dallas during the playoffs.

The latest on Hardaway Jr. here. https://thesmokingcuban.com/posts/dallas...and-future

I don't know if anything went on behind the scenes, but from what I saw Hardaway looked engaged on the bench in the playoffs.

I am sure he is frustrated.   His role changed near the all star break, got in a shooting funk, didn't react well to lesser minutes and never got on track again.   Him feeling frustrated is perfectly normal.   I just wish now he stays quiet until Dallas can find a way to move him.

Both parties will be better off going different directions.   Just hope there is a painless solution for Dallas to move on.

Using the restriction that the Mavs need to stay within 100% trade-match limits ...

If Lebron wanted to join the Mavs, obviously anyone would offer him minimum salary. But say he expressed a preference to be here. How much (which) players + picks would you offer, to enable a SNT to appeal to all 3 of LBJ, LA, and DAL?

Personally I think he's locked into LA. But how desperate is he for another ring? If he doesn't think it's possible in LA, will he be looking for a different landing spot? And what better one would there be than Luka-Kyrie World?

Kidd tried to use him in the playoffs, but in the minutes I watched him carefully, his shots were not even close to going in.

I think he's staying in LA. JJ doesn't take that coaching job unless he knows LeBron is staying.
Find me at Lakersball.com. I'm done with the Nico and the Mavs.

The Lakers are committed to signing LeBron James to a 3-year, $162M max contract, per
@mcten
.

39-years-old: $50M
40-years-old: $54M
41-years-old: $58M

Unreal money for a 41-year-

I'm not certain that's a prohibitive deal for the Las Vegas Sands Corp., especially if Lebron is willing to play a "Willie Mays" role for the casino.  Without knowing the actual rules, it would seem if casino owners can purchase teams, players should be able to represent gambling interests, but I look forward to being corrected on this.

Detroit has emerged as a potential trade destination for Dallas' Tim Hardaway Jr., league sources tell @TheSteinLine.

Detroit has the 53rd pick in the draft, and Isaiah Stewart would be a near exact matching salary in a trade.

Dallas has also shown interest in Quentin Grimes in the past, but he’s only making $4 million. I may be wrong, but I believe Detroit CAN absorb THJ’s contract if they did do a Tim-Grimes swap.

Evan Fournier has a $19M team option that could hypothetically get moved, but the deadline for Detroit to pick that up is on Saturday

What deal do you want to see happen?

Interesting.    Zach Lowe said there was word Detroit would be a team that would take contracts (with assets going back).  I hope this isn't something where we need to give up an asset.

Maybe Detroit really values Timmy and what they could get from an expiring contract and a rehabbed value

More than what they can get from Grimes this year/next year. Especially if they're going to draft a guard in this draft.

These are the things I'm telling myself. If the Mavs can get Grimes, what a home run that'd be. He'd be a fantastic 6th man.

It has really been a quiet news week, when this qualifies for news.

I'd be more than fine to do a deal structured like this:

THJ+ 2025 top 20 protected first

Mavs get Grimes+#53+2027 2nd pick

*you can stop reading here if you want*

Perhaps Stewart also has to be included and sent to a 3rd team. Because I am obsessed. Lets add Thybulle to Dallas. Mavs can then send Green to Washington for #26.

Roster looks like:

Luka/Hardy/Exum
Kyrie/Grimes
DJJ/Thybulle
PJ/Maxi/OMax/Morris
Gafford/Lively/Powell
14x All-Star, 12x all-NBA, 1x MVP, 1x Finals MVP, 1 NBA Championship: Dirk Nowitzki, the man, the myth, the legend.

A full potential trade construction has not yet emerged, but league sources say there have been scenarios discussed in which Quentin Grimes would land in Dallas.

interesting....per your post below if Grimes was involved Dallas would have to surrender some kind of asset.  I don't think a Toronto second gets close.

I said 2025 FRP top 20 protected. Not the Toronto 2nd.

That Toronto 2nd will be sent for my new boo Thybulle.

Yeah, my bad. Confusing posts.  I agree it would need to be a little painful for dallas.  I hate touching that 25 first though...even if protected.    Typically when you hear these leaks it means they are not really close....usually.

STOP THE PRESSES!

As I read your first couple of posts, I thought to myself this guy is nuts if he thinks we can get Grimes in a THJ trade.

I hope this happens you beautiful bastard.

Grimes isnt afraid to shoot like Josh Green and he's a better on ball defender.

I wonder whether Grimes is a S&T candidate at $8.7M starting salary. He has not kicked on from his early promise last year. 10 of 46 games in double digits as a rookie. 37 of 71 games as a sophomore. Just 14 of 51 last year. I have aöways liked Grimes, but we need a reliable scorer not another Green/DJJ. So question is do you believe he can kick on again from his sophomore season and disregard last season.
Mavs in: Avdija, Grimes, DJJ

Mavs out: 2025, 2031, two 2nds, Hardy, Green, THJ

Risky to go all in like that, but the fits are there
