Was thinking about this month from the Mavs. They ended 8-8 but were injury ridden throughout. Made me feel grateful they kept a .500 record despite their injuries and had me thinking who stepped up.
Of course Luka is bonkers, but some other guys definitely surprised. Who's your pick?
Some people were disqualified either for lack of games played (Josh Green-3 GP, Kyrie-3 GP) Or lack of consistent minutes (Morris, Holmes, Lawson, OMax).
Still feel free to vote for whoever you want. If someone isn't on the poll you think deserves a spot, I'll add him.

Luka shouldn't be on the list.
But anyway..
My boy Exum is the MVP (but I'm not surprised of his play, five games into the season, I already know he is going to be an important dude for the Mavs).
Lively would have topped Exum, but he had a couple of underwhelming games and stinker games.

It's hard to leave off a guy who averaged 37.5/8.9/11.1 on incredible efficiency.
Luka is so good that he makes the incredible mundane. I have to give him props even if voting for him is an obvious choice.

Luka is an obvious choice for any night, day, month or year--so far. But even he will wear down if he doesn't get some help. To that end:
Lively looks to be part of the future. Much better early on than I expected.
DJJ has been pretty good.
But Dante Exum will get my vote--for helping the team--and Luka--through a difficult month.

I voted Exum. I excluded Luka because he is our best player and easiest choice. The Exum story keeps getting better though. I really hope we see everyone healthy. Exum has a way of getting 12-15 points right in the flow of the offense. Seems to have a knack when to attack and when to lay back. Being able to guard different positions has also been a huge development.

This isn't under Dirkie rules so I voted Luka as good as Exum has been this month. His workload got crazy after Kyrie was hurt

Luka carried this freaking team throughout a tough December, and, as omahen points out, reached a whole new level of offensive dominance in the process. I love me some Exum, but votes against Luka are either ignorant or blasphemous.
