If the Nets stay healthy they will be hard to beat. Looks like the perfect fit for Simmons. And he solves the biggest problem the Nets had in the past. Defending Giannis. Was only a preseason game but I cannot remember the last time Giannis was shut down like this.
And next to iso scorers like Irving and Durant his non existent shooting isn´t as big of a problem. Simmons initiates the offense. Sets them up in their spot and they go to work. Not a lot of ball movement but sometimes individual talent is all it takes.

I thought he looked good. I don't want to take much away from a preseason game, but he sort of evens them out. Kyrie and Kevin will take a lot of the shots but with Simmons as least it doesn't turn into your turn, my turn between the two. He is also very good pushing the pace. Free throw shooting is a huge concern though. He is 1-6 in two games. If he can't make free throws or if tries to avoid getting fouled, it will be tough to play him when they are in the penalty.
A few other notes, I don't know if he is a just a black hole and does nothing else but whenever I get glimpses of Cam Thomas he makes something happen. He knows how to score. I also thought their young center played some productive minutes.
On Milwaukee, I was really impressed with Javon Carter. I think his shot has always been a ?. But last night, he looked real confident shooting. On defense he is a bulldog.

I like Simmons on the court. Maybe the closest thing to a Draymond analog in the league.

Would that make him Draymond Digital?
Find me at Lakersball.com. I'm done with the Nico and the Mavs.

I actually think he is very similar to Jaden Hardy. Not the best athlet. Good shooting mechanics. Questionable decision making. Even more questionable defense.

https://twitter.com/BrooklynNetcast/stat...0778750048 He was also the best Luka defender in the league.

Ben Simmons is THE best defender in the league when he gives a crap. I would take him over anyone else, easy.

This is the key to your statement. The fact he doesn't really give a crap most of the time means no team can win anything with him as a key member.

Maxi + DFS > Simmons
They always work together to limit Giannis when we play them and do a very good job. They can also hit wide open jumpers.

Maledon is who we should have signed. He had some decent games backing up SGA when he was out.

Always liked Carter too. It didn't hurt he was busting his old team, lol.

Not buying it. Nobody can limit Giannis if he's on his game.
