Thank God, for two reasons:
1) your point
2) You composed a post I agree with - was starting to wonder if that would ever happen again.

Does Brunson's departure have to be a SnT to generate a TPE? I feel like it does, but I'm not an expert.
If this is the case, does the Tax Apron limitation kick in for NYKs? I'm just trying to see if there is any small value to extract from this deal and a TPE seems like the cheapest return, other than air. But if the apron thing kicks in, then NYKs would be incentivized to NOT do a SnT, at least to my logic.
Please help.
The "reasons why" are various, depending on what NY wants to do next ... but a SNT would be to NY's advantage (with no downside). Making it happen should be an easy cooperative move for all 3 teams. If the Mavs can't see how, or know how to sell it (not that they should have to), or know how to use it, they are way worse than I thought possible.
I would expect this is in the "done deal" part of what's going on, essentially --- but don't have complete confidence in these guys at all, when they keep getting pantsed. We'll see.

Everybody can outbid the Mavs.
No cap space. In the TAX. No assets.

I think the Hartenstein contract indicates that Brunson is a SnT.

Good. That means Mavs probably aren't offering much more than the minimum.
Earlier reports say Mavs are planning to slice some of MLE for Hardy. In contrast, MIL may be offering full MLE. That would be the diff.
Something like
DAL - 2 yr 11M
MIL - 2 yr 13M

Let’s hope. Be nice to get something out of losing him.

NY will not pay anything for him to Dallas. The only value could come if they use his outgoing contract in a trade.

I would lose my shit if the Mavs spent that much on McGee.

Whatever can be used to help recoup some sort of the loss.

MIL already used the full TMLE on Jingles.

The difference would be the quality of the team, and I assume the Bucks acting from a position of strength only offer the minimum anyway, while we could be offering more. Hope not, but who knows.

In all seriousness, if Nico pulled that off with no picks included from the Mavs' end, his parade would be back on for me.

I believe if you find a way to add Brogdon and get Goran here your team is set. I would be happy with that roster.
