2019-20 Around the NBA: Archived
I question if Lebron will be able to stay healthy. I'm not sure if last year was an anomaly, I know everyone expects him to bounce back and be league MVP again but I think there's a chance his body could start to completely give out on him. You can only avoid major injuries for so long playing at that level. Also it looks like he's put on a ton of weight.

I don't see them making the playoffs (mainly due to a poor supporting cast)

The Lakers are one of those Western Conference teams that could really finish anywhere.  While I'm not sold on the supporting cast, if Bron and AD stay relatively healthy they will be a factor.  If not I could see them missing the playoffs.

Anyone else think DSJ will be out of the league in a few years?

Yeah wouldn't surprise me one bit. I said during his rookie year that he had a VERY high chance of that. His bust and flame out potential is SKY high. I still cannot believe the Mavs got KP with DSJ as the centerpiece....

I 100% expect the Lakers to miss the playoffs.

Davis at most has played 75 games, and I really doubt he'll be hitting that mark with the Lakers, whose training staff has been awful since 2013.

Lebron cannot play 82 games either. He's getting up there and has played more minutes than almost anyone to ever play. Can his body hold up? Last year it didn't.

Even if Lebron and AD played 82 games, they'd both need to play 36+ minutes. Their team is so shallow.

I hope not.

I loved DSJ when he was here. When he was on, he was such an exciting player to watch and his highlight reels still get me giddy. In the weeks leading up to his departure, his behavior definitely left a bad taste in my mouth, but I would like for him to succeed in the league.

It'll depend on two things: body and mind.

Both still need more work to stay stable for having a long career. Lots of potential, but he first needs to be able to control himself - his body and mind.

I know it’s only preseason but the lakers look good so far, taking it to GSW

Watching it too.

AD and Lebron with 29 of their 42. Lebron at 15 mins, AD at 13 with 18 possible minutes to be played. Thats quite a lot for a preseason game.

One blatant weakness the Warriors are showing right now is their lack of size. They're just getting absolutely manhandled on the boards and their talent isn't enough this year on the court to makeup for the lack of size. They need to be rolling for that strategy to be effective.

Countless of passes have been tipped too. Losing Durant was one thing, but I think losing Klay too is just way too much to overcome.

I think the Warriors struggle out of the gate this year.  Durant & Klay are not all they are missing.  No Iggy, Livingston, Cook or Cousins.  They are going to be so dependent on Curry this season and if he goes down for any length of time they are cooked.

"I think a lot of fans look at the Knicks as a brand and expect these younger players who, in their lifetime, don't remember the Knicks being good," Durant said. "... I've seen the Knicks in the Finals, but kids coming up after me didn't see that. That whole brand of the Knicks to them is not as cool as let's say the Golden State Warriors or even the Lakers or the Nets now. The cool thing right now is not the Knicks."

I saw this on NBA TV’s highlights last night. They reported that he did it cause Justin was playing too tight of defense for a pre-season game? I hope that gets JA some extra playing time, MM is a douche! I wanted him for his toughness, I’m now glad he didn’t come here after seeing that which is when you can’t control your macho.
