I certainly hoped that a 4-1 finish by the Mavs would be good enough to secure the #3 seed. But, alas, it was not to be.
And then, to make matters worse, Luka wins the appeal of his technical foul suspension so that he can play in a practically meaningless game, and then he gets hurt 2½ minutes before a 6½-day layoff.
