MacMahon on Zach Lowe's podcast today and they kind of tear the Mavs (primarily Luka) to shreds around the 37-38 minute mark if anyone is interested.

MacMahon made a comment about Luka reporting to camp weighing 260....

Most interesting stats were the fact that Luka/Maxi/KP have only played 49 minutes together this year and that KP post ups average 1.2 points per possession and Luka post ups have averaged .78...which was surprising.

He said he's about to drop a story leading into our game against the Pacers later this week about Rick's departure.  Should be....like a really fair view of everything because he's not dramatic at all when it comes to the Mavs.

I think you gotta sort through his stuff, and say "nah" to some of it. But he also has given us stuff before that the folks that use a friendlier approach didn't give us.

He also pointed out his favorite trio Luka - Kleber - KP played 49 min together. Tho more or less 2 games.

I think you gotta sort through his stuff, and say "nah" to some of it. But he also has given us stuff before that the folks that use a friendlier approach didn't give us.

So which stuff is that? How do I decide that? I think that specific stuff is clearly untrue. NBA cameras catch basically everything and there was I think one video of frustrated Luka barking at RC (when RC called timeout Luka didn't agree with). How do I know anything else is true? Or how can I measure, how much truth is in each statement if he is exaggerating everything so badly?

No. What I do agree with is that Mavs play very poorly. Something I thought since season start. I don't think anything changed.

Yes, he said if he squinted really hard he could see a contender, but hasn't seen it yet.  I believe that is fair.  Lowe, to me, is the best in the business.

In a later podcast, he said he was less worried about Atlanta (who were at the time 5-6 games below .500) than the Mavs who at the time were 3-4 games over .500.  

When listening to him, I feel his thoughts are similar to a lot of us here.  There talent/fit  is not where it should be.   But even with that they are not far from being a really dangerous team as is.   I sense he is really conflicted because most of this year has not looked smooth.

I feel like this happened last year too. At what point will teams revert to the mean against the Mavs? Or is this indicative of a serious flaw in either effort or scheme?
