They can’t aggregate salaries though? They’d still need to sign someone afterwards, to get to the 14 minimum roster size. I don’t hate it, but maybe I’m missing something there?

Is it crazy to be interested in Jrue as a stopgap point guard? Maybe for Klay+PJ with no picks. You either let him play out the next two years or try to flip him next offseason for something of value.

Of all their guards I’d be more interested in Scoot, Sharpe, and Vit. In that order.

Yeah, that's about right (working from memory). So far around 160M which is ~5M below the cap and ~40M below the tax line.

Just in: San Antonio Spurs forward Julian Champagnie intends to sign a new three-year, $45 million contract with the franchise through 2028-29, sources tell ESPN. The Spurs declined Champagnie’s $3 million team option to give him a new deal. Waived three years ago, Champagnie has become a vital part of the Spurs core.

Champagne can get buckets. Very streaky. Philly waived a few players that have found some traction in the NBA besides Julian. Isiah Joe, and Paul Reed. Then they traded McCain who's in OKC's rotation. Those guys couldn't come off their bench?

Duren is a situation where I'm confused about the what and why.

Unless the reported deal DET offered him was misstated, it was as much as any other team could offer: 4 years, 25% max, 5% raises. So he's angling for a trade in which he gets that same contract and DET gets his value back from SAC in trade (gutting the meh SAC roster where he plays on a loser), or an offer sheet in which he gets that same offer sheet and DET can match? 

I'm not convinced he's even worth the offer DET made in the 1st place. It's a team. Lots of mouths to feed there soon. And he wants even more?

I just don't get it.

Green, LeBron and Davis are obviously all Rich Paul clients. Some of his biggest. 

I think this is a carefully orchestrated dance to squeeze better offers for each out of GS (Green), LA (LeBron) and WAS (Davis), respectively.

Me either. He'd rather go play for one of the worst teams in the league, just as long as he gets his bag. Sign and trade who from the Kangz?

They don't have to. But they definitely want to as the 2nd apron is so punitive.

Essentially that line is telling us that 7.1mil is definitely going to come off of OKC's books, someway.

I just don't get it.

I mean from his perspective, this is probably his best (and most likely only chance) to get a gigantic contract worth over 100+mil. If you're in his shoes, I'm sure you'd try to squeeze as much juice as you possibly could. 

What is interesting is that the Pistons all of a sudden are in need of a center. 

Portland's Jrue also is intriguing as a stopgap point guard. One of the guards out there that can defend next to Kyrie and still play the one.
